Car battery charger

It is possible that the unit needs to see a battery load before it engages the charge circuit. To test this measure the voltage of the battery without the charger. Then attach the charger and measure the voltage again. If the charger is working the voltage should be 13 to 14 volts.

How I can convert 110volts to 220 voltage in Craftsman charger 145301 because in the Peru country we use 220 v. thanks.

_Some_ chargers will allow a range of input voltages. This will probably be "Input: 100-240V" or something like that written on the charger. __You need to be sure__. Others may have a switch from one voltage to the other. The trick here is to make sure the switch is in the right position. In both cases you may also need a plug pin adapter. If the charger you have has neither of those abilities then you either need to get a different charger from Craftsman, or get a voltage converter, which will give both the right plug for your wall sockets and convert from 220V (from your wall) to 110V (to the charger). Unless the charger has voltage range or a switch, you can't just use a simple plug pin adapter.

I have a Dell Inspirion 1525. The Battery would not charge and the light would flash orange. I bought a new one and upgraded from a 6 cell to a 9. Now it says plugged in but not charging and the batt light...

Hello,

Firstly, i suggest you try to use the charger with a similar laptop to see if it will charge it.

If it does, it means the charger is still very much good.

And as for the battery you change, it will be better for you you to check the voltage rate on your charger and the voltage rate on the battery because it is very possible, the voltage rate of your charger might not be able to power your new battery.

The voltage of the new battery might be higher than what the battery could power, so you might need to get the same voltage rating of charger for the new battery.

**** you can still test the charger with a similar laptop to be sure the charger is still good.

Take care.

New batteries does not seem to fully charge. tested the output of the charger with meter and it shows no voltage on the output of the charger, but the two lights flash quickly when plugged in to the wall...

The measurements below are for a 12 volt charger or across one battery at a time. In a 24 volt charger or across both batteries at once, double the values.
The charger will not show any output unless connected to a battery. To test the charger, attach the charger to the battery but do not plug in the charger. Connect a meter to the battery and read the voltage (9.8v - 11.6v).
Now plug in the charger. Read the battery again (13.6 - 14.2v).
The voltage must not be higher than 14.8 on the battery or the battery will over-charge - the charger needs service. If the voltage does not come up to 13.2v, the charger is not running. Again, the charger needs service.
Be patient. You can wait ten minutes and measure again. Batteries respond slowly to the charger.

Do a Amazon search for the iGo everywhere charger. It will charge multiple electronic gadgets without overcharging and automatically sets the voltage output based upon the gadget your using. If you need the charger quick, then go to Radio Shack.

My chair wont charge in either of the charging ports

It's either a dead charger or dead battery(ies). You will need a voltage tester meter to check. First check the charger by setting your meter to a setting over 24 volts (your chair is a 24 volt system). Test the voltage at the charging port by placing the two probes into the two outside ports (there's three ports in a triangle...test the two opposite ports.) You should get a reading in excess of 24 volts but less than 26. Now plug the charger into one of the ports and check the voltage again. If the voltage is now higher than the first reading, your charger is working and you will need to replace the batteries, if it is the same, your charger is bad.

I have a scooter and it was working perfectly but now i plug in the charger and doesen´t charge what should i do?

Assuming you didn't get the PC board mounted inside the top of the tiller assembly wet, or the power controller located under the shroud, then you likely either have one or two of the batteries that are bad, or a bad charger. You will need a voltage tester that you can pick up cheap for about $6.00. Set to the DV voltage setting in the 50-100 volt scale. Remove the seat and the shroud and test the voltage at each battery. If good, they should read about 12.25 volts or more, not higher than 14. If one is normal and the other lower, say 10 Volts, that low one is bad, but you should probably replace both with fresh gel batteries, fully charge before using. If both batteries are about 12 VDC, then plug in the charger to the chair as usual, and take another voltage test on each battery. The voltage should read higher now that the charger is on. If they aren't, then your charger has no output. Some chargers you can test output voltage on without them plugged in by testing across the two horizontal pins on the 3-pin connector that you plug into the chair. The output voltage should be about 26 volts. If it is 24 or less, you need a new charger. Good luck.

Does a laptop charger need a voltage regulator?

No. Your charger is designed to correct for input fluctuations and has a certain tolerances to meet for output voltage and current ripple.
