Question about Kenwood KDC-MP342U Car CD Player

1 Answer

Hi. I have a Kenwood KOS-A200 in my car. I have just bougt a Kingston datatraveler 100 G2 32Gb to get some more music in, but it just says "NA DVICE". I have a Kingston datatraveler G2 16Gb that works fine. I have checked all manuals and charts and I can't find any reason why it shouldn't work. It's formatted FAT32, I have 371 folders and 4271 files in total. The depth of the folders is at most 4 folders. To mention is that the most of the media are copied from the 16Gb stick that works. Would be very happy if you could shed some light on this. Regards/ Jonas

Try to format the thumb drive to fat system rather than fat32. All of my drives are all set to fat sys file and haven't had any problems. It couldn't hurt trying it in Fat sys file!

How do i download music to a 2GB Kingston Datatraveler

Hi,
Such kind of flash disks or external pen drives, shown as a new disk when you attached it to computer.

Please plug-in your kingston to usb port of your computer.
Open an file explorer (or double click on to the "my computer" icon).

You can see the drives currently attached to your system. If there is a floppy drive it named with the letter A.

Your hard disk(s) identified by the letters starting with C and CD/DVD rom D.

Your kinkston also shown with the next letter just after the HDD and CD/DVD under normal conditions.

Please click onto the letter that identifies your kingston and see the content at the right pane.

You can then copy your music files and paste into the kingston .Like normal file operations.

regards.

W98SE Driver for Kingston 1.0Gb DataTraveller Flash Drive

The people at your local computer shop are wrong but, Windows 98 should at least recognize the USB thumb-drive and ask for drivers.
I would remove all the USB Controllers from within Device Manager and restart; allow Windows upon restart to reload the USB Controllers; then plug in the drive and see if Windows at least recognizes and then install drivers.
It seems only the DTI/XX, KUSBDTE/XX, and DTII/XX support Windows 98.
