Question about Washing Machines
I killed my washer today. I decided it was time to clean underneath the washer, WHILE IT WAS RUNNING!, and got the fuzzy duster caught in the belt. It stopped spinning and blew the breaker. I fixed the breaker and turned the dial to the rinse cycle and the washer partially filled, stopped and now it is dead. The breaker is on, there is power to the plug, the belts will hand turn and do rotate the tub and agitator. There is no hum or any indication that it is getting power. The fuse is a white ceramic looking one, so I can't tell if it is still good. Please help me. Linda

when you say the drum wont spin even manually. Do you mean the drum is too stiff to turn by hand? If so the bearings may have seized up solid. If the drum is free to turn by hand, the pump may be blocked, or burned out & not allowing the water out. If so the circiut wont allow the machine to spin. If thats the case, unblock or replace the pump

Your door lid has a switch that makes these functions work.First open the lid and look at the right side of it.Does it have a arm on it?If it does follow the direction where it is going to hit and now listn closely while your lifting the door up & down at this contact can you hear it click?If its not clicking or the arm is broken off the lid replace the lid switch/or the broken lid switch arm.

Don't have much experience on Frigidaire. Is the motor a brush type, capacitor type or one of those new DC types? If it's got brushes and they are ok, then I would say your armature is up the creek. If it's a capacitor type (unlikely) then the capacitor is most likely duff. If it's the new DC type it could be a lot of things, most likely the module which breaksdown and passes an AC component in the motor supply which make the motor tremble but not rotate

Washer has a motor coupler linking motor to transmission. If this motor coupler is broken or has rounded out where it engages the motor and/or transmission gear it will only fill and drain. You can view this coupler by leaning washer back against the wall & looking underneath with a flashlight. There may be a sound dampener panel on the bottom that you have to remove to see it. It is two pieces of white plastic with a rubber grommet in the middle.
