Depending on the update to windows it might take a little while for this to complete, just leave it on for a bit, if it is stuck on 3 of 3 for more than 45 mins then it was probably an error and you will have to forcefully restart your computer by holding down the power button for 5 seconds and hope that your computer recovers after the reboot

How do I fix a frozen cursor on dell inspiron?

make sure batteries have power and have secure seating
or it might be the usb for wireless mouse or lead connecting to the usb port or even a faulty mouse

if this does not fix the problem

restart you computer tap the f8 key repeatedly to enter safe mode where the only things working will be your keyboard and mouse allowing you an attempt to repair your computer

click start control panel administrative tools computer management device manager scroll to mice and other pointing devices you might see a yellow exclamation mark ! or question mark ? or a red x

right click you will need to update the driver

click start control panel mouse you should see 4 tabs buttons pointers pointer options and hardware under hardware you have options to troubleshoot also you can select properties under driver you will have options to update driver rollback driver or uninstall also

I have found that the best way to adjust your mouse settings is to create a control panel in your bottom toolbar scroll to the bottom of your screen right click you will see an array of options select the toolbar option then select desktop

then you will see the desktop in the bottom toolbar select the 2 arrows then all control panel items then select mouse this is in WINDOWS 7

in XP you will have to select the new toolbar option once you have that a browse option select my computer then control panel then a control panel option will be in the bottom toolbar

hope this helps

The cursor on my emachines laptop is frozen in the middle of the screen and i tried restarting it taking out the battery for awhile and nothing, i don't know what else to try. if u can please help me out...

Before you plan to return make sure you have done some or all of this things first:

1. Did you reboot after you installed the os?
2. Did you make sure that if its a USB mouse that it is securely connected to the USB port ?
3. Were you able to move your mouse without any problem at all before the software installation ?
4. Have you had this problem before the installation of OS ?
5. Have you done all your software and windows updates ?
6. Will the mouse work when booting into Safe Mode ( pressing F8 during re-boot before Windows Vista loads) If it does then your softwares need to be updated.
7. Did you check you device manager to see that theres no yellow exclamation anywhere in the Mice and othert pointing devices or under the USB controller section?
8. Is there a legacy USB port to be activated on your computer BIOS ?

If the installation caused your mouse to be frozen then try and uninstall the Enterprise 2007 by using your keyboard and tab to the programs uninstall.

If your mouse still doesn't move after doing all of the above things
then try another new USB mouse. Sometimes you may have to wait for several seconds (even up to a minute for new usb mouse detection) before the USB mouse cursor will move. If the second new USB mouse still wont work then return it to where you bought it as it could be faulty usb connector

plz do rate the solution if got help

Frozen keyboard & mouse on Acer Notebook

You may have a motherboard failure problem. I would ask you to check the drivers and update them but will be hard to do if you can't get past load screen. You best bet may to get a copy of system recovery and boot pc with the disk installed. Wipe computer completely clean and reinstall windows.

Cursor is frozen and can;t move on my laptop

Plug in a USB mouse, and go to Contol Panel>system>device manager and click on the +sign next to pointing devices. Right click touchpad and uninstall the touchpad, then reboot the computer, remove the usb mouse. Windows will pick up the touchpad as new hardware and re-install the drivers for it etc..

I hope this helps

We tried a Belkin Flip to bring our two computer screens together but after 5 minutes the mouse froze. We have a Citrix Server (Wyse terminal)and our Switchboard is a Mitel 5550IP consol. No one else...

1. Download and install ALL of the windows updates and service packs
2. Download and install any updated drivers for your Belkin Flip
3. Cool both computers down as much as possible to help prevent thermal overheat and lockup

Certan configurations can cause a lockup such as a Mitel 5550IP terminal and a Citrix Server

The prefured configuration is 2 identical desktop PCs

Mice can pose a problem , you can try moving the mice to a USB port

That may help clear up the situation of lockup.

Selah. :-)

Mouse Cursor Frozen

Try putting the computer into safe mode by shutting down the computer. Turn the computer back on. At beginning of the boot process press and hold the f8 button and select safe mode from the menu.

When the safe mode is done booting up, try moving the mouse around. If it works, restart the the computer under normal Windows startup procedures.
