If a different battery compatible to your camera doesn't solve your issue, then it's time to either have your cam repaired or buy another one. Nowadays, gadgets don't last that long and are disposable. If repairing the cam would be cheaper, then go for it.

Hi, My best guess would be that the battery isn't actually holding a charge anymore. I'd suggest trying a different battery as that should solve the issue.

My Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX8 suddenly stopped working. I've tried recharging the battery. It's a few years old, is it just done?

Hi,

My suggestion would be to try with new set of battery.

You can also try this.
Remove the battery and clean the contacts between the camera and battery and insert it. Sometimes tapping the camera on the palm 3-4 times bit gently too fixes the problem.

My camera problems have been resolved, although I can't attest to how or why. After about six hours, as I prepared to pack off the little guy to the manufacturer, everything had gone back to normal. I'm left only to speculate that maybe the camera admitted some condensation from yesterday's frigid and wet weather which whacked out its electronic nervous system temporarily. I have no clue.
