Question about ASUS F3SC-AS127E-TM T7300/2.0/160/15/VBU PC Desktop

1 Answer

Hi, my asus f3sc display card crashed due to the fan problme i guess. When i was working, the screen suddenly went black, and it halted. Then i tried to start again. It's starting, but nothing comes on screen, gray colour. I feel the os is starting well on the background, but no display. How may i change the Nvidia 8400M G on my Asus F3sc? I've opened the inside of my notebook. But the thing that i think as the fraphic card (have seen nvidia 8400 written on it) seems to be permanently glued to the motherboard. Is it possible to remove it and reinstall a new one? Thanks in advance..

If the card crashed then the whole computer would crash, also if the graphics card has died the computer wouldn't boot into windows because it wouldn't pass the POST (Checks if RAM/Graphics card {as well as some other things} are working correctly before booting into windows)

sadly there is no way of replacing a dead graphics card in a notebook without a massive chance of destroying your motherboard, i'd recommend contacting the manufacter and find out if you are still inside warrenty to get a replacement.

hi a sudden turnoff of ur laptop with no error message or black screen like attached normally indicates overheating issue.specially that it is working for shorter period...if you notice a heat issue or loud fans..try to use external fans..or maybe using power saving mode may lower the CPU or gpu clock and reduces power and heat produced 5_22_2014_6_24_57_pm.jpg

Asus crosshair socket am2 motherboard not booting

Sounds like your monitor is bad. Try another monitor because if the video card was bad and the monitor is working you would get a No Signal message on the screen. Borrow a monitor from a neighbor, friend, relative or co-worker and connect it to the computer. If the Borrowed monitor displays ok, then your original monitor is bad. If the Borrowed monitor does the same as your original monitor and does not display anything, then there is an issue with your video card.

My system only boots as far as the initial bios screen where it says Press F1 or Delete for setup and just hangs there. The keyboard indicators light up, but it will not boot any further.

Good Morning!

and wish you a Happy New Year2011.

1. Visual checkup of the Motherboard: See for any defective capacitors on the board near Processor. A defective capacitor will have a tapered surface and a good one will be flat, on the top. You need to service motherboard. Most of the motherboards carry 3-years warranty.

2. RAM problem: try to put your RAM chips in another slot if vacant. if you have two slots and both are occupied, then try starting system, by placing one RAM at a time and in each slot alternately.
If any combination works then you can make out if and whether your RAM or its slot is faulty.

3. Hanging due to overheating: Before you get the message "Press F1....", pres PAUSE key several times, it should halt the process and the message will not be displayed. This will make sure that the system is halted by pressing the PAUSE Key. After one minute, release pause by pressing any other key and see if you can move further. There may be two possibilities . . .

a) If you are still in the same position, where you have paused the system. The system is halted due to CPU over-heating. Clean the CPU fan with blower or a vacuum cleaner. See, if all of the locks of the CPU FAN and the heat-sink are intact. If the fan itself is not rotating, check for the fan cable and if it is OK, then try replacing CPU Fan.

b) You have reached the same point where it used to stuck before, i.e. at "Press F1...". Now this means your system has halted while detecting other peripherals or add-on cards.

i. HARDDISK: Most possible cause is your HARDDISK is making "click-click" sound and not getting detected. Switch off system and remove all HDD cables (Power and Data both). Start your system and see if you get any message like "insert system disk" this means there is problem with your HARDDISK. the same problem may be caused due to CDROMs. try same and try again.

ii. SMPS POWER SUPPLY: This symptom may be caused due to inadequate power supply. You can change SMPS and make sure if the problem is due to power supply.

iii. ADD-ON CARDS: Remove any add-on card like, Sound card, Graphics card, Modem and switch on the system. if system starts, then turn-off PC. Try placing one card at a time. and start system to make out which card is making the problem.

If the problem remains, get back to us.

Have a nice day!

Screen all of a sudden went black, I can still hear the fan running, machine won't turn off ...seems to be frozen,

Chances are your Vidoe card is now defective due to a known issue with certain Dell models. The GPU has a clocking issue, and melts down due to heat. Try pressing and holding the Power Button for 10-15 secs. to see if if shuts off. Leave off and do not move for an hour. Try powering back on and make sure you only power laptop when running on a hard flat surface. Placing it on a bed, pillow, couch, etc, can block the fans and cause excessive heat to sensitive components like your hard drive, video card, RAM, etc.
