Question about AEG S75348KG Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

Water is appearing under the front left foot (as you look at it). It builds up in to puddle over night. I have checked the instructions which are difficult to follow (not very clear English) but it said something about 'putting the melting water outlet in to the evaporating tray that sits on top of the compressor' the ends of some black pipes at the back of the fridge are already sitting inside a white tray on top of a black cylinder (I assume is the compressor) and everything is completely dry, I can see no trace of damp or water or leaks at the back of the fridgefreezer at all. Inside the fridge part I have cleared the water outlet out, there was a bit of gunk, but nothing major. I am at a bit of a loss now what to do

Freezer drain is plugged.
Two solutions:
1. Call a service repair company.
2. Turn off both controls (turn to lowest setting) and open freezer door for minimum of 24 hours (max 48 hours). That will thaw drain sufficiently.
What has happened: Somehow the freezer drain had ice build-up and eventually froze solid. Every time the unit went into defrost mode, the melted frost (now water) had no place to go. The normal exit is the freezer drain hole which leads to the drip pan underneath. That exit is plugged with ice, so the water went where it could - across the freezer floor and out the bottom of the freezer door. You found it and wondered why.

Thank you so much for your speedy response. In this case, I think the reason is the fridge drain hole - I cleared that out but the water kept appearing, only to discover bottom of fridge door seal (above the freezer door) was full of water!!
It took quite a while to squeeze all the water out, but seems to have done the job. I guess if the fridge drain hole is even a bit blocked, the water has to go somewhere and it appears thats to the front of the fridge and out into the door seals and down.

I did check the freezer door seal and this is totally dry

I am keeping and eye out, but this seems to have fixed it.

    thank you again

I think the problem remains. You fixed the symptoms but not the disease. How did the water get to the front of the freezer? Why did it appear there? The door seals stop the passage of air, but not water. They are not intended to stop water, as no water should ever get there.

You have to find out why the water showed up. I still believe it is due to a plugged freezer drain.

Every few days I find a small puddle of water near the front left corner under the freezer of my TFH22JR.

Guys, . . . small puddle of water on the FRONT left side?? Y'know, . . under the FREEZER door??!? Maybe check the John Guest quick connect/disconnect fitting at the bottom of the freezer door just behind the front cover. It may not be fully connected, or may have a seal worn-out.

Dishwasher Leaking Water Front left side (when facing)

Had a similar situation with my dishwasher. Turned out there was some hard water build up on the rubber gasket. I would start there first. I would not use any harsh chemicals on it, (it may jeopardize the gasket) it usually flakes off. Hope this helps.

I( find a puddle of water on floor at front left hand corner on freezer side..I took the freezer drawer out and found ice build up under it ,could this cause my problem.. this happened about every 24 hours...

The problem with your refrigertor is that the defrost drain is plugged up. After you get the ice buildup out of the freezer section you will have to locate the drain system. It is in the back of the freezer at the very bottom. It needs to be cleaned out. Hope this at least leads you in the right direction.

Puddle appears in washer after clothes have been removed.

This sounds like a check valve for the drain hose has failed. This check valve is in the pump discharge port and prevents water left in the hose from draining back into the tub.

Water puddling in bottom of freezer and freezing

the drain in the back of the freezer is probably full of ice. you need to pull out panel and use heat from a blow dryer to unplug the drain. then take a small gauge copper wire long enough to extend into the drain a couple of inches and loop it around the black heating element then when it goes yhrough defrost it should keep this from reaccuring

This is an issue brought about by the defrost cycle. Usually, the condensate goes into a small pan under the unit where it evaporates. You will likely find that the tubes coming down from the unit to the pan underneath the box are clogged with dust. While you're there, clean the condenser coils.
