Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,
You've actually posted on the washing machine forum!
Having said that I think you are correct PROVIDING that the electrical supply to the heating element itself is confirmed OK.
Cheers,
John C

My hot water heater.

The Installer should have made sure it was working after it was put in. Give them a call to come back and fix. Recheck your starting up procedure as well before you do. There should be a full explanation on the unit on how to start up and set the controls. If it was a brand new unit, its possible that the pilot injector may be blocked from foreign objects going into it when it was installed ( Bits of sand, dirt etc)

My shower will have been turned off for hours all of a sudden it gives one large gush [drip] then will not drip for a while but will do so intermittantly. ps. this is a shower not a bath tub / shower

This is not necessarily an issue, air enters slowly and eventually lets some water escape. This may happen until the water is lower than the highest point of the shower discharge circuit.

What is the white part that holds water tubing on back of Amana refrigerator? It is leaking water around the tubing

hi,
tubing at the back refrigerator is the condenser, function of this is heat rejection that absorb from your evaporator inside your refrigerator, the white part of holding tube condenser is tube holder mounted by screw to hold condnser tubing has no relate inr efrigetration cycle.the screw use on tube holder was directly pin at the back side of eveporator where cooling effect emerge some ice melted or defrosted form water pass through on screw tube holder, you can fix loosen screw have some sealant pathced to hole where srcew located after a minute of drying time screw it again so that water leak may not come out to that tube holder through your condenser,
well,if that leak does not harm or not make any trouble passing through your condenser its still good condenser need to be cooled so that refrigerant inside tube can flow on liguid state effeciently.on large refrigeration such as ice plant
condenser was designed to have a water shower on tube called evaporative system.it make coole the condenser tube.
this ideas can give you clear explanation why water leaking on tube condenser.have anice day rate me,thanks a lot

Water is either hot or cold - no in between.

I found a way to get warm water in the shower, but I'm not sure it qualifies as a solution. After trying everything else I thought that maybe when I was feathering the faucet in the shower toward the cold side so I would get warm water that at a certain point it blocked the flow on the hot water side enough so that the sensor in the hot water heater sensed there was no demand in the line and it shut the water heater off. To test this, I went to the kitchen and turned the kitchen sink faucet all the way to the hot side and then turned it on so that I got a small flow of water. I waited for the water to get hot to be sure the hot water heater was working. Once it was hot, I left it running to keep demand in the line and then I went to the shower and turned the faucet on. When the water got hot I started feathering the control towards the cold side and soon I had warm water. So I think I'm right in that the sensor in the hot water heater was shutting the water heater off when the demand in the shower was lowered to a certain point when I was trying to adjust the water temp in the shower.

So now I can get warm water, but it means I have to leave the hot water running at another fixture in the house to create a false demand in the system so the hot water heater doesn't shut down. Is there a way to adjust the senor in the hot water heater so that it will stay on when I'm using the shower only, so I don't have to waste water by running another faucet when I want to take a shower?

Shower pressure.

Hi chicken69

I'm Harvey the Master Plumber.

You want to know why the presssure on your triton t80i shower has dropped by half?

It is very possible that some debrie has come up in the water and is partially clogging the shower. For this you would have to turn the water off and dissassemble the parts clearing all the small passages, a bit of wire or paper clip works. Perhaps for a pro? If you like you may choose to utilize our Repair Directory.
