Question about Philips Magnavox 13MT143S 13" TV
My mother-in-law does not have a manual for this TV - 13MT143S (Philips Magnavox 13" TV) and she is asking me if her TV will work after the switch to all digital signal is made in February. She is NOT and cannot use this TV with a cable hookup where it is located. She lives in a 12-story highrise (on the 2nd floor) and uses a set of rabbit ears. She can get several channels. Since the TV is fairly new, I'm thinking that the TV should work without the need for a converter box, but that she may well need a better antenna. Am I correct?
I notice from the on-line info about the TV's features on www.fixya.com that there is a setting on the TV for "Weak Signals". Would that setting help us? Can you tell me where on-line I might be able to find an on-line manual for this set? The Philips site URL brought up on fixya did not connect, but I will keep looking in that direction in the meantime.
Thanks for any help that you can give me,
The manual can be found here: http://www.replacementremotes.com/store/downloadpdf.cfm?productid=35830
As for the DTV issue, your television will require the converter box. You can get a coupon to reduce it's cost from the United States Government Webpage and print it off.
