Question about Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop

1 Answer

My laptop computer Inspiron 1526 did not turn on when I pressed the power button. I tryed a few times, but it still didn't work.. So I pressed the home button to see if it works and that was the problem ! I saw on websites later and knew that many people have done that and made it worse. Anyway, since then, as soon as I turn on my computer, it just go directly to the Dell Media Direct. I have tryed all the rebooting method in F12 and no change was made... There seems to be no clear solution as far as i see on pc problem Q&A sites... I have lots of things in the computer and I can not lose them whatsoever... Can anyone help me ??? T-T

If it goes directly to the media direct when you press the power button, try to remove and reconnect the plastic cover where the power button is located and if it does not help, try if you can boot to your OS CD to repair your OS installation

Laptop screen will not turn on when computer boots up. The computer itself will turn on, but the screen stays black. This happens after it goes to sleep (just shut the lid) most times as well. Sometimes...

You are encountering a "POST" (Power-on self test) problem on your laptop. Here are the steps that you can try.

- Remove the battery and the ac adapter then press the power button for about 15 seconds. Try to power on the unit using just the ac adapter.
- If you have an external monitor, kindly hook it up and check if you will get any display on the external monitor. If you do, the LCD needs to be checked, if not, then you may be having a problem with the motherboard.
- If you can reseat the memory module and the hard disk drive of your laptop then that can help as well.

I hope this helps, please inform me if this solution works or not. Thanks.

Hi i have a dell inspiron 1526 amd it is just not working and only a black screen appear when i press the power button. please help me with my problem thanks alot

hi.... i can suggest one thing that worked for me just a few days ago, remove the battery from it. make sure it is not plugged into the mains, next remove the hard drive by turning over your device using a small screwdriver cross head normally taking off a small vented panel and there will be tape or string for you to pull the hard drive out, leave it a few seconds then place it back in how you removed it put it all back together replace the battery and put it on charge wait for 5 mins or so then turn it on. it will not affect your computer in anyway if its fully switched off other than reset it this may work for you. good luck

Why can't I see the whole page on certain websites? When this happens, I have no horizontal scroll bar to get to the far right side.

Are you certain it's you computer and not just how the sites are designed?
If you are using Internet Explorer, try pressing "Ctrl -" a few times (this controls the browser's zoom out function). If that doesn't work I'd download Mozilla Firefox- its a great freeware web browser. Many people who are sick of Internet Explorer switch to it.

How to do a master reset on a dell Inspiron 1526, but I don't have any of the discs. My computer keeps going to a page saying I have to type in my dell password. I do that and it goes to a black screen...

Step 1: Start up your computer and as the computer logo appears (such as Dell orHP) hit "Ctrl>F11" simultaneously. This may be different fordifferent machines, but the most common keys to hit are"Ctrl>F11." If this does not work, the F8 key has been said towork for certain machines.Step 2: Select "Repair My Computer" from the list of menu options thatappear and press "Enter."

Dell inspiron 1526 has problem (plugged in ,not

Hello there:
First you will want to ensure that the power cord is fully inserted at both the laptop and all the connections for the cord and that it is getting proper power. and check tosee that the connector thatthe power cord goes into is not loose if so this will have to be repaired
next remove the battery from the computer and unplug the power cord and then press in the power button for 1 minute than if this has a reset button on the back use a toothpick or a small item and pressin on the reset button for 30 seconds
now insert the power cord (NOT THE BATTERY YET)
and turn on the computer and it should now start up if so insert the battery and leave charge for 1 hour than you should be ok from here ok
Please keep me posted on this so i can assist you if needed.
Best regards michael

I have completely lost all power to my inspiron 1526 laptop

Please try the following DIY to find the issue:
1.Remove the battery and press the utton for 30 seconds and then plug the adaptor and run on ac mode without battery and if it is powering on then issue is with battery.
2.Refix the battery and check whether power LEDs are blinking.

If not in both the cases this is the issue with the MotherBoard and you will have to contact either DELL or any repair vendor.
