Question about Tiger Kitchen Appliances - Others

1 Answer

I have 5.5 cup tiger rice cooker and used it for 5 years. Now when I plug it and turn it on, the pilot light does'nt come on, and no power. I also tried using some other outlets but the same no power. I tried to dismantle it to see what is inside but there's only one screw and it's all well sealed so I can't open. So what seems to be the problem and what's the solution?

The fix is a new unit
the possible problem is a broken wire in the unit or in the plug or the lead of the unit

SOURCE: Measurements for Rice

Most of my experience with the rice cookers is that they require a japanese rice Cup which is different than the japanese regular cup. makes a whole lot of not sense but i found a replacement cup at one of the local Japanese Markets if you had to you could use regular measuring cup and use the 160ml for your measure. also the cup has a "Inomata" on it so maybe the web can help you

Have you tried scrubbing the inside (heating surface). Make sure there is no burnt on stuff on it and on the middle sensor (CENTER OF THE UNIT). I usually use a green scrubber with Comet. Also make sure that the bottom of the rice insert (outside) is clean.

The white rice turns brown and it smells after only 2 or 3 days.

Nothing. Cooked rice should be immediately refrigerated if not used and used within a couple of days, to do otherwise can be fatal.

Your cooked rice is discolouring due to either bacterial or fungal growth, either due to remaining spores in the cooker between each load, or just due to environmental effects. So far, you've been extremely lucky not to suffer very severe food poisoning.

If it was purchased in 2009 and had a one year warranty, this is now 2017--well past the warranty expiration. You might check if the unit will work in another outlet, otherwise, just bite the bullet and purchase a new one.

3 CUP AROMA RICE COOKER WILL NOT HEAT --ONLY 4 MONTHS OLD

1. Is the cooking pot filled with water? If there is no weight, it will not turn on.
2. Is there a pilot light? If no power, you have a unit that was probably returned by someone else.
3. The heating element/plate thermal fuse may be blown. Either replace the fuse or the whole unit.
