Question about Kodak EASYSHARE 5300 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Kodak Easyshare all-in-one-printer

My printer does not give me a clean copy when I print. Some line of print will look fine; other lines are so faint I can barely read them. I have tried both basic and deep cleaning of the printhead, but it does no good. Any suggestions?

Here are the things you will be asked to try if you call support. They may fix the problems as well. Taking the printhead out and putting it back in is the big helper.

Remove the black and color ink cartridges.
Right above where the black ink cartridge was, in the top left hand corner of the printhead, push up towards the ceiling and you should be able to push a button that releases the printhead.
Place the printhead right back into the printer and push straight back on the back wall.
You should hear a loud snap.
Replace the ink cartridges which should snap as well.
Close the printer.
After about a minute or so the printer will ask you to do a calibration.
Insert a paper and press start.
Scan the calibration sheet.
After that, in the menu, do a printhead clean.
(If this is a 5100, do it in the home center ->? in the top right ->Maintainence ->Clean Printhead.)
Do one basic and one deep.
Print a demo sheet to see if anything has changed.
If the picture looks better, continue to do cleans.
In the event that it does not, the printhead will need to be replaced and since the printer is still under warranty, Kodak specialists will try to overnight you a printhead.

When I print pictures on my Kodak 5300 printer there are lines all through them. I have cleaned the print head two times, one after another and the lines are still there. What will remove the lines?


If they are white lines keep trying to clean the print head. If they are black lines you need to physically clean the bottom of the print heads with a damp cloth.

there might be alot of dried ink in the reservoir or the print head is going bad.

Page two of a word document prints so every other line is faint


do 1 thing, save document-2 as a pdf file and try to print one document @ a time. it will resolve the issue.

My kodak 5300 will not print other than faint colors, I changed the print cartridges and cleaned the print head...whats wrong?


just call 1.800.421.6699 for a new printhead. It's a common problenm and kodak will give you a free one.

Faint printing


Try unplugging and repluging the printer to the computer.

Make sure the printer settings are correct in the printers properties box in windows (or other system)

Try another USB port and finally uninstall and reinstall the printer ,if it doesn't solve it then it will have to go to a Kodak service center.

Printing illegible, very faint


I run "clean printhead" and that solves the problem when it happens to me.
