SOURCE: STR-DB930 Receiver
Hi. I have a similar problem, where the rear and more recently, the centre speakers cut in and out. The relays that connect them click on and off rapidly, like morse code! Annoying, especially losing the centre, as in a 5.1 mix the centre carries most of the dialogue. The voices will be very hard to hear without the centre speaker. I tipped my STRDB930 over, and removed the slotted panel under neath. This gains access to the under side of the bottom circuit board. There, you will find the solder joints of the 3 bottom relays, the fourth being mounted on a narrow strip of board above this. Shine a torch through the top onto the blue relays, and you will see where the solder joints are. I noticed that 4 of these joints looked like they were broken, so I re-soldered them. The centre seems ok now, although it's too early to tell. My receiver still clicks, but if that is comming from the relay mounted higher up, I don't know how to gain access to this easily. Hope this helps.

discharge the output circuit! If you don't you will blow a 10 ohm resistor every time. I've worked on hundreds of these receivers I know. They need the output circuit soldered at the voltage driver ic's and quite possibly some capicitors replaced on the digital board. The caps mounted near the heat sinks dry up the fastest. These are nice amps. Larry's Electronics Sacramento Ca. firstname.lastname@example.org
