Hi-

Try to check the menu setting if there is an option to turn on/off the LCD screen of your camera when on the camera mode. Some cameras have options to turn LCD screen off.

Keep me posted... thanks!

Screen black, but with all menu options visible. Black screen after taking a picture

Hi,

The black screen problem means the lens sensor is spoiled due to over exposure to heat. Its better to give it to Nikon service center. If your camera is under warranty period its well and good they will replace the lens sensor for free of cost.

Thank you

Cannon A530 View screen has gone blank

Usually this is beacause you press the button "visible", all camera have this button to choose the visible model of the LED, you can turn off it to save power to take more photos by view sight from the small sight window above the screen.

I OWN A CANON POWERSHOT SD1000. THE DISPLAY SCREEN IS BLACK WHEN I TRY TO TAKE A PICTURE. HOWEVER PLAYBACK IS CLEARLY VISIBLE. IT IS ONLY WHEN I ENDEAVOUR TO TAKE A NEW PICTURE THAT THE SCREEN IS TOTALLY...

If you take a picture using the optical viewfinder, does the camera actually record the picture? If so, you may have the LCD turned off in the camera mode (there are three options: standard, detailed, and off). With the camera in the shooting mode, press the "DISP" button and see if the LCD turns on.

Black screen

If you can view pictures that were already taken before you ran into these problems, it may be that the sensor has gone bad. Please see this link for your options. (If you're not in the USA, your regional Canon service organization should provide you the same options.)

Not able to take picture

if lines are visible only when using in camera mode. The camera might have a CCD imager going bad or lens ribbon , connector problem .If lines are NOT visible when using playback mode. Then problem should be in lens area(CCD)..
