Printing to much red. the picture in print shop looks fine but actual print is to red or pinkish.

you'll need to install a color management profile matching your printer, or use manual settings in Photoshop (if that's what you're using) so that the software will issue a lesser red image to compensate for the overly red printouts of your printer.
Another point to consider is that printshops may be using a lot more sophisticated print machines than our everyday laser printers. Also, from what I've read sofar, most color laser printers are optimized for charts, tables and text printouts. Image printing isnt their favorite thing to do.

On printing color the pictures are too red

you need to check the ink levels in the other cartridges. I suspect they are too low as against the level of the RED. Also do a nozzle check to ensure that these colors are actually printing and not clogged.

Printing wrong colors

you might be running out of the red ink.

Whenever a printer prints the whole image but with different colors it means that the printer uses the available color with enough amount.

Try replacing it with new ink cartridge.

HP printer not printing true color all of a sudden.

Altho the cartridge is new, you may have used all of the ink of one color. Pictures take an enormous amount of ink to print and all three primary colors are used to create the hues and colors indicated on the picture. Try a new color cartridge and see if that works.

Ink not printing the same image quality that is on computer

Issue When printing directly from a memory card, the printouts have an abnormally high red tone.
NOTE: This does not affect the prints that were originally sent from the computer. Solution Press the Photo Fix button to turn off the Photo Fix feature before printing from a memory card. Cause The Photo Fix feature was originally designed to reduce/enhance printed pictures by making colors more vibrant. However, it can also have a side-effect to make some prints have more red tone than desired. In the HP Photosmart D7100 series printer, this feature is “ON” by default.
