You should see a split on the top of the remote, use a small flat head screw driver (like a jewelers flat head) and carefully insert it in the split and attempt to pry the top (button) side plate away from the case. There are 3 retention clips on each side of the front and back plates that hold them to the gray center plastic.
It's easiest to start from that crack and carefully continue prying along the parameter. Remember, the clips are attached to the black plates, so attempt to pry the gray piece away as you pull the black plate up and away.

The alarm turns on when I put the key is in the door lock. Is there alarm reset?

Are you using an aftermarket key or the original? It may have a chip in it. Also if you have a spare original try it.

I disconnected negative cable in 94 Toyota Corolla and when I reconnected neg. Cable the alarm wont shut off how do I reset it or shut off because car wont start. Please help asap. Thank you

Hi..I'm gonna assume your alarm is, pursuit etc. If that's the case make sure your key is off put the remote in your hand, put on your batt cable then hit your remote it should work. If not you should have a little.disarm pushbutton inside the car. Its usually hidden on the kik panal or under dash. Hook up batt.turn on ign hit button if eiether of those don't work find out what kind of alarm and get back with me.

How to disable 98 civic alarm keeps drain battery

Might have broken wiring harness wires that run from the cabin to the door. There is a rubber boot that covers this harness, runs near the door hinges, remove boot and check all wires and if you find any damaged or broken, repair and test auto door lock.

What is the valet button located inside of glove compartment used for

It is used for programing the alarm, it is used to disarm the alarm without the remote, [in case remote is damaged] and it is used to put alarm system into valet mode, [service mode] valet mode is only really needed if the alarm has been programed for passive arming, [alarm arms itself].

Your main use for the valet switch, [if programed for active arming instead of passive arming] is to have a way to disarm the alarm if the remote does not work.

I have a 1999 Acura and my wife is trying to change battery for me while I am deployed. The alarm keeps going off and the remote will not shut the alarm off. How do I change battery and keep alarm from...

the easiest way might be to use a set of jump start leads & connect them to the new battery, then to the battery leads of the old battery before you disconnect them from the old battery, then remove the old battery & fit the new one being careful not to dislodge the jump leads then put the battery leads on the new battery.....hope this helps......cheers.

I have 850 volvo and keep getting imobilisor and alarm when i go to start it new battery it doesnt reset

Did you switch the new battery over directly after you removed the old one? If so try disconnecting the car battery for a few hours, then when you put it back on put the live "red" on first then the "negative" black second. this often resets the immobiliser.

Hope that helps.

p.s in some cases with other makes you have to leave the battery off over night as the immobiliser if factory fitted has a battery backup built in. this needs to run dead.

p.s.s also try lock and unlock with the key not the remote.

Car remote not working

Sounds like you need a remote, or the remote lost its program. You need to check at the dealership to be sure.

Car alarm remote, autopage won't work, unless caseing is off

if you look closely at the PAD you will notice little "pegs" that actually push the button inside the remote. Usually what happens is after years of use the pad either becomes deformed and or the attachment point that holds the pad to the plastic housing will work loose and change position. This will result in the problem you are describing, when you close the remote case the little indicator LED will go off and on or stay on or stay off but if you identify the problem you can either shorten or lengthen that particular peg to conform and behave like its supposed to. Also you can stop by your friendly independent car audio shop, like mine and inquire if they sell just the case of the remote. this is a quick and cheap fix.. $10.00 for most cases. Just transfer the little board from the old to the new and you are ready to enjoy years of trouble free button mashing.... mark

New battery, can't reset alarm

remove the alarm, their might be a passive switch on the alarm to turn it off with a special key,if you dont have the key break the lock so you can turn it off or try to open case of alarm and look at wires and then dertimine which ones to join or break, every alarm inside is different so you will have to work it out.
