How do you refit distributor cap clip to distributor when it comes of?

There are usually two spring clips that hold the cap on, or alternatively it will be bolted on. If it keeps on coming off, then I assume your must have the spring clips. Make sure both are properly in place as it should not come off if they are installed properly. Sometimes one of the clips will break and there will only be one.

I need to installhow to install a new deflector on Craftsman mower model 917273130?

Very simple. The 6 inch or so pin that holds it on is retained by a clip on one end. To remove clip use a pair of pliers. If you work steadily and carefully you will be able to reuse this clip. After removing clip, pull the pin out. Old deflector and spring be removed now. To get the spring right you have to try it in position before installing it. Just remember that the spring is holding the deflector down so when you are done installing, when you pick up on the deflector there is pressure holding it down. Don't put the pin clip on until you verify the spring force is correct because getting that spring clip off is the Hardesty pay off the job.

How do I replace the clip-spring on the duet sport dryer?

Here is how to install the 8066208 clip-spring in the lint housing of the duet dryer. Hold the clip with the curved end facing down towards the ground. Now insert the opposite flat end of the clip through the slit in the lint housing. Continue to push the clip inside the lint housing until it stops. The flat end of the clip will slide to the bottom of the housing. There should be about an inch and a half of the clip showing when all finished.

How to re install oven door

There are two pieces of metal that are inserted into the hinge slots on the body of the oven, the spring (upper) and the hinge. Before you can re-install the door, you have to clip these two together by laying the door handle side down and then using all of your body weight to push down on the spring arm, using gloves and a wadded up rag to soften the impact to your hands, and then clip the two pieces of metal together using the little hinged clip on the hinge piece and the slot on the spring piece. When you've clipped these together on both sides, lift the door and insert the metal pieces into the two respective metal slots on either side of the oven body. when they're in as far as you can push them, use a flat edged screwdriver to release the clip and close the door. Good luck, it may take a couple of tries and be careful of the spring, because it can snap back and hurt you if the clip comes off prematurely.

Tecumseh carb 631827. Took it apart, cleaned everything and re-assembled. The inlet needle will not let gas into the bowl. I took the needle out and the bowl filled up with gas. Why is the inlet needle not...

Hi I am Kelly, I realize this post is nearly 10 months old. I am answering it now because it appeared after I made another post. Hopefully the repair information can be used by others.

Using this link:
http://www.partstree.com/parts/dispdiagimg.php?src=r&ilFN=D%3A%5CEMPARTweb_52%5CCatalog+Data%5CEMP_IMG%5CTEC%5Cimages%5Cimages%5CCA01%5C1.TIF&ilSC=10&ilIV=0&ilBR=0&ilIF=G&ilRE=8&ilSH=0&ilEG=0&ilRO=0&ilSC=34

Item 31 (spring Clip) is what is used to lift or lower the float needle. If the spring clip was bent or installed so that the spring was on top of the float needle head vs cliped to the recessed area of the float needle you will have the symtom you described. Usually you do NOT have to bend the spring clip to install it correctly. However, if it was bent during installation you will have to shorten the distance of of the spring clip horse shoe fold so that it lowers the float needle when the float is lowered.
See the picture on page 40 of this manual for the correct spring clip installation view: http://www.mymowerparts.com/pdf/Tecumseh_Service_and_Repair_Manuals/TECUMSEH_CARBURETOR_TROUBLESHOOTING_AND_IDENTIFICATION_GUIDE.pdf

One other thing to consider is that if the float needle seat is not pressed all the way into thebody you will have the symptom you described.... i.e no fuel flow with float in the lowered position.

Good luck,
Kelly

Does not spin

for everyone except 'overseer'
the coupler can be purchased at a local parts store
'Kenmore motor/gearbox coupler' will get it for you, there is only on for all the models.
it is an easy fix
  • unplug washer
  • remove trim ends of control panel
  • remove phillips head screws from bottoms of control panel under where trim was
  • slide control panel forweard & up about 1 inch, then flip over the back of the control panel, do not dislodge the air hose
  • remove brass clips in rear corners of top with screwdriver, remember how they fit
  • unplug lid switch connector
  • lift body 1inch and slide forward to remove
  1. front center is the motor pump and gearbox
  2. do NOT disconnect hoses
  • remove spring clips holding pump on to motor shaft, note where they go for reinstall. there may be a lock screw in the top right clip.
  • swing pump to the left and use a string or bread bag tie to hold it out of the way.
  • remove spring clips holding motor to gearbox shaft, note where they go for reinstall. there may be a lock screw in the top right clip.
  • heave ******* motor, to separate the coupling
  • remove coupling halves from gearbox shaft and motor shaft and discard.
  • using a wooden dowel and hammer, on the center of the new coupling halves, drive them onto the motor and gearbox shafts, (dont hit the fingers, they break, note the new couplings have metal centres to solve ongoing problems.)
  • rotate gearbox coupling, 1 up 2 down
  • rotate motor coupling, 2 up 1 down
  • install rubber shock pad on gearbox coupling
  • install motor on shock pad
  • reinstall spring clips and lock screw if fitted (bottom first, rock the motor on rubber shock mount to ease spring clip installation)
  • rotate motor shaft to align with pump input
  • install pump on motor shaft
  • install spring clips and lock screw if fitted
reinstall body in reverse order

it takes less time to do the repair than it takes to type this
