Question about Bissell Vacuum - Momentum Cyclonic 1 ea Bagless Upright Vacuum

1 Answer

Bissell Momentum 12amp

This vacuum has an air flow indicator. I thought it only had green and red but now I seem to be getting black and its not working very well. I have checked all the hoses and tubes the best that I can and am unable to find a clog. Any suggestions as to what I can do?

I have the same problem. I have checked the hoses and filters - there's no clog, yet the air indicator is either red or black. I can vacuum still, but it does not clean very well & the motor gets too hot from too much use.

I have a similar problem. Did you check the clear stationery tube in the back of the vacuum? Mine has a clog right where the dirt enters the vacuum. I can't get it to budge, and I can't reach it.

Did you change both filters. Mine had the same problem. After changing both filters, (one under canister and one on side of vaccum) the problem left.

Check Water Tank Cap Filter (it looks like a screen). and, check the Flow Indicator Filter (under the Flow Indicator). If that didn't help the try the Bissell Consumer Care at 1-800-237-7691

My vacuum makes a really loud noise when I turn it on. It was working and now it smells like something is burning. I check the belt- it looks ok.

The belt may look okay but it still can be stretched or worn and can be slipping on the motor shaft and thats why you have the burning smell. I would try changing the belt. Here is a link to the manual and a link to the belt you need:

Bissell Momentum roller brush doesn't roll w/ pressure

This is going to sound funny, but check the wheels. Sounds like the pin or shaft that holds them is broke. Also check the tension on your belt. If the tension is to loose then the brush will have a hard time spinning.Good luck
