Question about Dell F3534 Touchpad

1 Answer

When I am typing into my email account my cursor will jump into other lines and worst of all - a line or a chunk of text will get highlighted and then as I am typing on it will delete it. My other Dell computer would do that but this newer one is worse, My neighbor who has a different kind of computer has the same problem.

Is it because I am touching the keypad when I am typing that this happens.I have several friends with the same problem so it must be something we are doing when we type. If that is the case - I have seen a utility called TouchPad Pal which disables the touchpad when typing.
I have no stuck keys. My antivirus is McAfee - just installed and working fine. The touchpad driver says it is the lastest version.

Make sure that there is not any key jammed on keyboard also make sure that when you type email your fingure don't touch the touchpad.
Reinstall touchpad driver.
Then if still same then need to restore computer on previous point.
Also scan computer with updated antivirus.
For that go to start menu->accessaries->system tools->system restore.
Then restore to previous date.
Let me know if you need further assistance.
Thanks for using FixYa.

Samsung labtop cursor jumps around when typing causing all kinds of problems including highlighting and erasing entire lines or sentences!

Press Fn & F10. This disables the touchpad. You will have to use arrows or a mouse to move the cursor. This helps when you are doing a lot of typing. Press the same keys to enable the touchpad when you are finished typing.

What says home or end keys

it is primarily used to return the cursor to the beginning of the line where the cursor is located. When the text is not editable, the home key is used to return to the beginning of the document; this can also be done in editable text if the key is pressed along with control.
The home key can also be used to highlight all the characters before the cursor in a certain line if pressed along with shift in editable text.

The home key will take you to the beginning of the line you are on - try it, type a bunch of stuff then hit the Home key and you will be brought to the beginning of the line. If you are in a multi-line document, hitting CTRL+Home will bring you to the start of the entire document.

Similarly, the end key will take you to the end of the line while CTRL+end will take you to the end of the document

Hope this helps. Please rate my response.
Thanks.
Have a good day

Jumping cursor of a

Hi! I think youre probably having a jumping cursor where the cursor jumps from one place to another while typing an email or something. You may got to control panel - hardware - mouse then look for the check box that you can tick on that says "Tap off while typing" and this should fix the problem. Thanks for visiting FixYa.com!

General question

the preferred documentation or medium must be highlighted with the mouse cursor and a left click . hold the button on the mouse down while dragging the mouse across the screen

So now that your email address or text message or whatever you need copy and pasted is highlighted you need to copy it.

copy is achieved by holding down the control key labeled ctrl as well as the c button simultaneously - ctrl + c.

paste is then performed by left clicking with the mouse cursor in the area you would like to paste your selection. and Control + V

The problem with the cursor jumping to another line, continues.

The $9.95 I payed was for not.

Cursor jumps erratically

Most likely, your wrist is gently touching the touchpad, and your computer is interpreting it as a 'tap,' and it so happens your cursor was located several lines up.
Or if you use a separate mouse, is it on a wood or uneven surface? This will cause it to jump up those few lines and again, your wrist (or if you have big hands like I do, the bottom of your thumbs) will tap it.
