Make sure the chain stitch thread is threaded exactly as it should be, make doubly sure the thread comes off the bobbin vertically and runs through all eyes smoothly. Any faults in the threading causes extra tension at the needle despite what the tension is set on.
If this is not the cause then the needle depth and the looper timing needs checking.

Replacing needle on Singer overlocker.

The manual should have instructions. Most overlocker needles have a screw that holds each needle in place. Just loosen the screw with the screwdriver that came with your machine, slide the old needle out (note which direction the flat side of the needle is facing), insert the new needle as far up as it will go, and tighten the screw. Don't lose those screws or drop them inside the machine. If you remove a needle so you can serge without it, be sure to tighten that screw so it doesn't fall out.

you'll have to contact singer customer service about this model about the threading, you probably have a tension problem also with the machine, and I would suggest changing the needle on the machine also.

I have had a similar problem with my overlocker and had to adjust the height of the needle by moving it lower.
because one needle was so fussy i use my overlocker with only one needle, which give a good enough stitch for what i'm doing

Most likely is the left looper thread is trapping the needle threads.

Remove the threads and start over in this sequence....

Left looper - right looper - left needle - right needle.

If you thread the needles before the lower looper, the needle thread wrapped over the looper will be under the looper thread and will never be free to form a stitch, so the threading sequence is critical.
