Message recall

Outlook Express 6 was intended as a way to download your mail and view it locally on the computer its used on. In most cases mail accessed with Outlook Express was done so using POP account settings, resulting in the mail being deleted off the main mail server (in your case, verizon) and leaving only the copy of that email sitting on your computer in Outlook Express.
Of course if you were using more customized mail settings, its possible to keep the mail from being deleted from the server and have access to it from other computers or being logging into your mail account through a web browser like Firefox or Chrome, etc.
So to answer your question... If the email still exists on the server (verizon) then yes it can be done. But then accessing your account via the web would be far easier than doing it with Outlook Express.
On the other hand, if the email cannot be seen on your verizon account online, then accessing it with Outlook Express will not be possible. If its not there, its not there.

If the email physically exists on your computer in Outlook Express, then regardless of the account it was received through, it should still be there. If you changed your computer logon information, you might have inadvertently switched identities, resulting in your mail appearing to be gone. It could still be safe and sound, but hiding under another mail identity. You can find this by looking in your menu in Outlook Express for switching identities. If you see more than one identity available, switch to another and look for your mail.

I hope this helps.

How can I able to know my incoming mail server for may outlook account?

What you do is go to your Online host and follow THEIR directions. Each one uses somthing different, like ports to communicate, security, etc. Easiest to follow what they state, look under help and POP3.

So, another consideration is will Outlook Express be the ONLY access to the account, or would you perhaps check your e-mail directly, from the office? If the latter, you need to set Outlook to LEAVE mail on the server, for typically 14 days, otherwise Outlook will have removed the mail from the server. Default is to remove on receipt...

Also, some ISPs restrict OUTGOING mail, for spam reasons. To combat spam they may require all outgoing mail to go through their server. Gmail, for example, offers different ports to send and receive AND you must turn on POP3, or Local client acceptance. This is set as an option, in the online mail box client (interface).

As you set up your local mail client, you need to VERIFY successful Sending AND receiving.

Anyway, the answer for your case is at your site (mailbox) host.

Free, Outlook Express sending solution?

Outlook Express, as well as other LOCAL CLIENTS may by blocked by your ISP. Spam is the issue, and to combat, most ISPs require mail to be sent through THEIR server. So, contact your ISP and ask them what the outgoing mail server should be and update your Outlook to that server.

When opening emails on outlook express, same emails return even after deleting and blocking senders, plus got message 5 out of twenty downloaded but then will not deliver anymore

first make sure you empty your deleted and junk folders. In message rules make a new rule and use part of the senders name you want to block and select do not download from server. Some annoying mailers mail spam under similar addresses so it is hard to tell them apart at a glance. for ie. if you are getting unwanted mail from "bugsthehelloutofme@hotmail.com" make your rule for when the senders name contains words or phrases such as 'thehell' that way whaever this idiot is sending you will not be downloaded. You can even go further and create a response to them by adding a rule that will send them a whole bunch of spam automatically. Good Luck

Hi There, I have changed to a different computer and i cannot get my E-Mail through Outlook Express going. PLEASE can you help. Rosanna

Hi Rosanna,

If you have access to the other computer you can go to the Outlook Express (OE) menu - under Tools (I think) you will find the accounts option,

Open that and select your email acount and then select modify / Edit depends on your version.

Copy down the settings like pop3 server address and SMTP, your username and password and

then enter those details on the new computer's OE accounts section click on Add New Email Account

If you do not have access then try this.

Go to OE Tools->Accounts (may be under different menu)

Click add new Account
Enter the details it asks for
pop3 and SMTP servers are usually standardised
So if your email address is rosanna@here.com
pop3 will either be mail@here.com or pop3@here.com
the SMTP server will either be mail@here.com
or smtp@here.com

If you are connecting to hotmail then you will not get access to your email via OE anymore - you need to use Windows Live Mail or MS Outlook with the Outlook Mail Connector - available from MS.

I Cannot access my old email on outlook express to my new computer with vista

Vista does not have Outlook Express. Instead, it uses Windows Mail. By default, Outlook Express downloads your email and saves them in .dbx files. If you still have access to your old computer, you can copy these .dbx files from the old computer to the new computer where you can then import them into Windows Mail.
