Remove your ram sticks and put them back in. Also remove the CMOS battery (looks like a watch battery) for 30 sec. Put back in power up your machine. Hope this helps...

Sounds like the CMOS battery or the Power Supply. However if the motherboard was replaced, the tech SHOULD have had a new CMOS battery with it. It looks like a watch battery on the motherboard. If not then I would check/ replace the power supply with another appropriate supply, though I am not sure that the AC power supply would create the battery message. Check/replace the battery itself...should be something like a CR2025 or something like that. Picked up at Radio Shack or WalMart. If it is not this type, ask the manufacturer for a replacement, and the instructions to do so as it may require a jumper to be used during replacement. (Most cases do not require this).

Can you remove cmos from acer aspire 7520

Cmos is located in BIOS

CMOS is an on-board semiconductor chip powered by a CMOS battery inside computers that stores information such as the system time and date and the system hardware settings for your computer..

if you remove the cmos your computer might/will not run

if you have changed or need to reset your cmos

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS
using the arrow keys you can load failsafe or optimised defaults
after you make any changes in BIOS press Esc then press the F10 button save to cmos to restart

hope this helps you

My acer AX 1200 continually tries to start up and then shuts down. Is this the power supply?

Test your PSU or replace it if your power supply units fan is not working your PSU is faulty

One bad lead can cause a computer to continue on a cycle or to shutdown or fail to detect/ boot up a computer hard drive

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your "((MOTHERBOARD TO YOUR HARD DRIVE))" make sure they have a secure connection and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty
make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty a computer needs its connections to continue its cycle and have an end so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error even something as small as a faulty electrical extension or fan lead can cause this problem

follow the troubleshooting procedure a computer needs all of the data and electrical current to travel through every device and to have an end to be able work properly

a motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working also it could be a dirty computer clean all of the dust from your computer you could use a vacuum cleaner but whatever you use make absolutely sure there is no moisture gets to anything in your computer

hope this helps

First Hello. Before few days, when I turn on my PC(but I was unpluged my machine from electricity) and on monitor displays CMOS wrong set date/time,cpu frequensy.I hit BIOS set up sittings and Windows xp...

Replacing the bios battery was the correct thing to do. Answer me this. The Asus motherboard should have a green LED light lit (Standby power LED), when the system is turned off. Also keep the power cord for the power supply connected at all times. Though it is possible the replacment bios battery was all ready low on voltage or dead. When you're system is turned off the power supply continues to send 5volt DC to the motherboard which maintains the bios 3volt DC.
If the green LED is not lit than there is no power charging the bios battery and every time you boot the system the bios will have lost its settings. If the green LED is red in color, than the problem is within the standby switch built into the motherboard. The standby circuit can not be repaired. Double check all power connectors from the power supply to the motherboard. If everything has a good connection and you're bios settings continue to reset you should consider replacing the motherboard. At this point you have nothing to loose. Install the latest bios update,
(Beta Version 1010.005). 2006/02/14 update.

Just installed new mobo (ecs 6100sm-m) and boot up issue

from my experience, you will need to format when changing the hardware you have changed. are there files on the drive that you need? if so id recommend putting your old motherboard back in to backup the drive then rebuild and format. thats if it wasnt faulty to start off with.

hope it helps

My gateway 700 xl doesnt boot

Unplug the power from you 700xl and from you monitor. Try removing the cmos battery and reinstalling it. Then, plug everything back in and try restarting. If it continues to give you the yellow light, you may need to replace the CMOS battery, especially if it is more than two years old.

Another thing to consider is if your power supply is underpowered for the number of external devices you have plugged into it (i.e., cd, dvd, external hard drives, printers, pci cards, etc). Gateway installed very low powered power supplies in their 700xl desktop computers. Usually only around 250 watts maximum.

If you are replacing the power supply with another 250 watt maximum power supply, and you have a lot of external devices plugged in, you may need at least a 350 watt power supply....if your CMOS battery is not the problem.
