Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL-52W3000 52 in. LCD Television
This symptom was caused by leaky/dried filter electrolytic capacitor in the output of power supply section feeding the t-con board/main board. If you have a capacitor checker and necessary tools you may isolate the faulty parts or replaced all electrolytic capacitor in the output of the power supply. It will not cost you much because each is $4 at the most. If you can't troubleshoot it yourself, I would advice you to look for a qualified technician to isolate the symptoms.
Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!

The issue you are experienceing is because of a failure of the LCD panel in your television. The only way to fix the issue is to replace the entire LCD panel. This is the most expensive part in your television and is a common issue in Sony LCD's that were released around the same time as your model. There are two types of LCD panels for your model and the right one will depend on your serial number.
Part Number: 180248712 List price: $2091.45 Core Charge: $1810.00 currently in stock through Sony, for serial range 8,000,000-8,100,000
Part number: 180259311 List price: $2091.45 Core Charge: $2240.00
currently out of stock through Sony, for serial range 8,100,001-8,500,000
Since the repair is so expensive, I would recommend contracting the Sony Customer Relations department and see if they can help pay for the repair or give you a discount on a new television. Their number is 1-239-768-7547 (U.S. only), 1-239-768-7676 for international
There was a warranty extension for the LCD panel in this model but for a issue where you could see line on the screen when the TV is off, which sounds like a different issue you are having. If you do see this issue, you can get the TV fixed under the extended warranty for no charge but only if you can see lines on the TV when it is off.
