Question about Sub-Zero 650 / O Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

Sub-Zero temperture fluctuation

The temperatures on both the 'frig and freezer on our Sub-Zero 650 have been varying randomly for some months now. The freezer is set for -5 but varies between -5 and -20; the 'frig is set for 34 and varies between 34 and 42. Sometimes both are at set temperatures and sometimes one or the other is off. Most times the freezer is colder than the set temp and the 'frig is warmer then set temp.
Any ideas? Sensors? - although one would think if a sensor was bad it would be either the frig or the freezer.

I have a Sub Zero fridge Model 685 with the service words flashing which says it needs a new temperature sensor. I located the part #1063566 and need to know how to replace it. Is there a repair manual I can locate so that I can do it myself?

    Thanx for any assistance.

Just posted this elsewhere and it sounds like the same problem:
As you probably know, the recommended temperature range is between 35-45 F so if your control will not allow you to set this, the sensor or associated regulator has failed.

This seems to be an issue with Sub-Zero.

Freezer reads 00 but the frig section reads 57....where is the line to the frig...seems that is plugged

i coud not see the model # of your sub zero . some models like th 550 / 650 use 2 compresors . freezer system maybe ok when fresh food is not . . first thing to do is ck the cond coil up on top and clean it and mk cure the fan is cooling the coil . you moy have a cold control failure . and the fresh food comp may be low on gas . these are the most common cause for your problem .. mm feed back pls ..

We have our Sub Zero model 650 frig set to 35 degrees, our usual temp, but suddenly it won't get lower than 50. Freezer seems fine.

Check for a fan motor in between the freezer and the fridge. Or you have a block of frost in there shutting off air flow.

Sub zero refrigerator freezes food

Hello. You need a new cabinet thermistor and while you are at it replace the evaporator thermistor. (The evaporator is the cooling coil behind the back wall of your fresh food section) . These sense the temperature in your frig. Both of them are behind the back wall of your fresh food compartment. You will need a wire crimper and a heat gun or lighter to heat shrink the wire connectors that come with the new ones.

You are number 3 in the series this AM-
As you probably know, the recommended temperature range is between 35-45 F so if you control will not allow you to set this, the sensor or associated regulator has failed.

This seems to be a problem with your brand; I'd check to see if there is a recall or factory 'fix' for this. They may have gotten a batch of defective sensors or controllers.

Replacing the light switch is not related to the temperature. Check the settings on your controls.
