Try to clear your system of the most recent patch:
"Solution 6: Delete and then re-download system updates
To delete and then re-download the system updates, follow these steps.
Note These steps delete system updates that are installed on your Xbox console.
  1. Press the Guide button and then select Xbox Home.
  2. Select settings and then System.
  3. Select Storage.
  4. Highlight your storage device (but do not press A to select it).
  5. Press the following buttons in the following order:
    1. Left bumper
    2. Right bumper
    3. X button
    4. Left bumper
    5. Right bumper
    6. X button
  6. On the Delete System Update screen, select Yes.
  7. After your Xbox console restarts, select OK to download and install the system update.
  8. After the system update is installed, re-download your Xbox Live profile and try to sign in to Xbox Live."

You may also be out of hard drive space if you're using a 4gb internal model Xbox 360. If you haven't already, find yourself a compatible USB thumb drive to insert, format and use as added memory.

What's wrong with my Xbox 360? I turn it on it looks like it's working then looks like ive never played the game before.. no memory, no avatar, no gamer score?

It may be that you accidentally deleted your gamer tag. try recovering it from Xbox live. if you deleted your tag you may have also accidentally deleted your saves too which you cannot recover.

My xbox360 was working fine yesterday, i was trying to download a game but it wouldn't down load then this morning it quit working, saying i was out of memory. Should i reformat? if i reformat and it...

  1. Go to the "system" blade
  2. Select "memory"
  3. Press Y on the HD symbol
  4. Press X,X, Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X
  5. A message will appear saying: "Do you want to perform maintenance on your Xbox 360 storage devices?"
  6. Select Yes
this will be slightly different on the NXE dashboard

this shouldnt format your entire drive but it will likely get rid of some stuff you wanted to keep. its better than completely formating.
as far as xbox live account goes. there is a relatively quick tool to recover your GT. if you go to the xbox live blade you should be able to locate it easily

My XBox 360 freezes

Here are things to try.

1. Try another game and check if it only happens on this game ( MLB 2k9 )

2. Select memory -> Select Y button for device options then press the following sequence on your controller

X,X Left Bumper, Right Bumper, X,X

You will see a message that goes like this " This will perform maintenance on your xbox 360 storage device, would you like to continue? Select Yes

3. Delete your save game. or try to start a new game..

Because this is an indication that the certain point that you are trying to load is already corrupted and its your saved game.
