The power cable should not be any more than $5.00 to $7.00, this is a common cord to replace.

Most computer stores, and tv repair shops carry the power cord that you are looking for, if you order on line shipping will be added to the cost which could cost you up to two or three times the price.

  • John Cunningham Mar 20, 2011

Go to and type power Dell 926 cord, the pricing is excellent.

  • John Cunningham Mar 20, 2011

Please disreguard the information on the computer stores and tv repair shop since I thought it was the 1926 printer cord that you gave earlier and was corrected to the 926 makes a big difference in pricing

  • johay884 Mar 20, 2011

Okay thanks for that but where I can I get this power cable from, Dell or a computer store? Note I live in New Zealand so I dont think would be very helpful. If I need to get it via Dell please direct me direct to exactly what I need?

  • John Cunningham Mar 20, 2011

I checked the configuration of the plug and you should be able to find one in a computer store, but! I would suggest taking the printer with you so the proper cord is sold to you, eliminating guess work.

  • johay884 Mar 21, 2011

I went to a computer store today and they advised that only Dell can supply these cables. Please direct me to exactly what I need on your website. I do not have the cable here - as previous mentioned I have misplaced it - so it is difficult to select which one I want on the website. You may have a manual there to help me. It is the cable that goes into the printer (Dell 926 inkjet) and plugs into the socket in the wall. I need this as soon as possible and I thank you for your help so far.

  • John Cunningham Mar 21, 2011

I'am having a hard time locating the cord in your area, mean while could you take your printer to a television repair shop, they carry many different types of power cords new and used and you may get lucky. If there is more than one repair facility please check them out and I will do my best to help you from my end.

  • johay884 Mar 21, 2011

Surely Dell stock them!!!! I must not be the only person that has ever misplaced a power cable. It cant be that hard for Pete's sake - they sell the printers!!!

  • John Cunningham Mar 21, 2011

I checked different sites, I know the type of plug that goes into the printer, but your wall receptical is different, our system is 120Volts yours is 220Volts, I checked out two different suppliers one from UK and US. UK has a three prong plug, and US two prong that are suppose to go into the wall socket. I have sent them both questions asking if it will work in New Zealand, still awaiting a response, I even checked out Dell Australia, and ebay in the same country, no suppliers offer that plug, Hong Kong is the closest international seller with a US two prong plug "flat pin" I'am from Canada so that might help you understand my difficulty.

I downloaded the printer manual from Dell New Zealand, I went through it like a fine tooth comb looking for a picture of the power cord, but! no luck, they don't even list a part number I just can't understand why this is so difficult when it should be simple, I will keep you posted.

  • John Cunningham Mar 23, 2011

The UK supplier contacted me and could not give me the answer I was looking for, indicating to me he did not know. This is becoming a complicated issue where this should be cut and dry.

  • John Cunningham Mar 25, 2011

The us supplier never got back to me, I spent a lot of time trying to remedy the situation "hours" I'am sorry but I can not help you, this should have been a simple matter to resolve.

Different Cords, Many different Dell, printers: Neither the "1"1926, is nor the "L"l926 presents a result at's 'power cables accessories' page. Look carefully, any letters before or after the number will help tremendously.

Also, you didn't mention whether you needed the cord alone, the cord with an adapter or the whole thing, both parts. Here's the Website (prices are included)

If you can spot it by looking at the picture, great. If not, there is a search box, on the left hand side, specifically for power cords and cables. Place the full number (letters too)

Thank You For Choosing FixYa~!

Green light flashing

Do the following.
Remove printer cartridges. Disconnect printer USB cable. Disconnect printer power cord. Inspect printer looking for stuck paper or foreign objects inside printer. Clean the printer contacts to cartridge inside the ink carriage. On computer go to Control Panel >Printers and delete the printer from control panel. Reinstall printer driver. Connect the printer USB to computer when prompted by printer driver setup process. After connecting the printer refit cartridges, load paper and try printing again.

If that does not fix the problem, then there may be a fault.

In that case try ringing Dell support at the number listed on the owner manual and on their website.

Note: If you have misplaced printer driver disk, you can download drivers using the link below:

Misplaced printer cable in moving. Is there a part number for the cable 922 printer, dimension 4700?

According to the documentation available at Dell, your printer uses a USB cable. You canprobably get such a cable at the K-mart and certainly at any of the big box office supply stores or Electonics stores. You want a PRINTER USB cable ... not a retular USB.

I hope this helps you

Dell 1700 laser printer has Low toner and error lights flashing

Leave the printer on. Open the front and hold down the cancel button until all the lights are flashing in sequence. Close the front while still holding the cancel with the lights flashing and then release the cancel button. This should reset it.

Dell A924 totally dead after installing new ink cartridges

you are exactly right about your guess as the main board is short in your printer due to ink leak.
its compulsury to replace that main board.but it will cost you quite same as compared to new going for a new printer is much better option.and its advisable.

but before buying the new printer you can try to open the printer and remove the new board fron the printer and cleaning the whole board with the tooth brush and water slowly and letting it dry for 2-3 hours.and check all the cables before connecting it again that they r not broken or cracked in between.
because if the problem is of broken cable it will cost you very less to replace it and repair it.
