SOURCE: picture doesn't fit screen

my rca truflat tv projects a larger picture than the screen, its really annoying i play my 360 and it cuts off alot of the screen so i cant read messages on the left and right of the tv screen, there are no options to adjust the ratio so all there really is to do is to buy a new t.v. if you are reading this i recomend you do not waste your money on a TruFlat RCA T.V. If somebody has a solution please let me know it would save me money and would make me very pleased.

Go to menu ,now to setup when in set up do you see convergence? If convergence is missing in menu it is a open fuse, only it does not look like fuse ,They look more like small square capaitors brown, they will be right next to flyback transfomer FL231 (3) of them in a roll it will be the middle one,you can take needle nose plyers and pull top up on fuses.

Sound that the COF IC is faulty. Visit the site named 'Electro-help' for more details. Click this link. View it in 'Flip card' option, which can be selected from the drop down box menu by the [Sidebar] tag, at the top left corner of the display window. It will make search easy. RCA 52 inch fuzzy screen no buttons work no sound cable doesnt work on it just fuzz

First is you removed power by unplugging the surge protector---this may have confused the micro in the set.

Unplug the set itself (with it turned off) for a while and plug it back to see--sounds like this is your problem to me. Usually in this case only the on/off button on the set works.

MY MONITOR SCREEN IS FUZZY. UNSURE THE CAUSE OF THIS, PLEASE HELP; COMPAQ MV730I MONITOR MAY BE JUST OLD ALREADY AND I NEED TO REPLACE IT.

Difficult to say as there are several possibilities. First would be to narrow them down. You may have already tried this, but wipe all dust off of the screen to see if that helps.(Do Not spray liquids on you monitor, if a cleaning agent is necessary, use a damp wipe to remove debris. If a single drop gets past the monitor's bezel in the wrong place, it will cook the monitor or worse, cook you.) If that didn't work, then, if possible, run the monitor on another computer. If that clears things up, I would suspect either a driver or hardware issue with the computer. If the screen is still fuzzy on another computer, then it is definitely the monitor. As CRT's age, many things happen. One is that the phosphor wears out from being shot at by the electron gun and start to go dim and then fuzzy as the intensity is increased by the user to make things brighter. Another thing that ages is the high voltage transformer. As the transformer weakens, it is no longer able to shoot a sharp beam of energy and begins to splatter a bit of energy on the surrounding pixels which would make the screen appear fuzzy. If the CRT has controls for adjusting intensity, contrast, saturation (those are sometimes hidden behind a small panel) tweak them one at a time remembering where the original setting was to see if that clears things any. ***DISCLAIMER*** (Note: Some monitors have the controls inside. If you are not experienced with adjusting high voltage devices DO NOT DO IT!!! A monitor is not worth your life, and if you disrespect high voltage even by accident, the potential is there to kill you!) Above all things, BE SAFE, and then choose what is best for you to do. Best of luck.

Where did you buy the lamp at? Does it look the same or worse than when the old lamp was in there and working? Is there a big difference or if there wasnt another tv sitting next to it mabe you wouldnt notice? Also you dont need to clean the screen, that could damage it. If you are going to clean anything you will need to clean the mirror behind the screen.
