Fn button for volume in Lenovo g560 don't appear mark of increase or decrease ,, as i install new version of win 7 ,, and same case in brightness

Make sure you Press and Hold the FN key then hit the key that increases or decreases the volume. If the FN key is not held down while you press the volume keys, they will do nothing. The brightness works the same way, you must Press and Hold the FN key then hit the key that controls the brightness.

Speakers on my Pioneer VSX-D466S receiver are not working. Is there an internal fuse that may be blown?

some recievers have a monitor button on them. if it gets pushed your sound wont work. look at the display and see if you see the work monitor. if so you should have a monitor button either on the reciever or the remote. it is a toggle button so just push it till it goes away and sound comes back on. make sure to turn sound back down before pushing this button as you might have turned the volume way up trying to hear it. my wife accidentally pushed it last week and she thougt is was broken untill i got home and simply pushed the button.

Volume up/down buttons don't work unless I reboot.

Hi visionair , try to shut down the pc. Then remove all cables from the computer. If it is a laptop, remove the battery, if it is a desktop, proceed to the next step.

Push and hold the power button for 5 seconds. Then plug back all the cables (including battery if it is a laptop) and turn on the pc.

Check the volume up/down buttons if it works.

Hope this helps....

Where can i find lenovo care button on my keybord?

Are you talking about the ThinkVantage button? This is usually the blue button labeled "ThinkVantage" on the upper left of the keyboard. Right after the media or other buttons. On my T61 the upper left has the Esc key, 3 speaker buttons (mute, volume down and volume up) and then the blue rectangular ThinkVantage button.

What about removing the hard drive from the laptop and put it into sata box, to be USB external drive.
And then get out your important data, and format the hard disk.

and try again to boot???

If it doesn't work , try to replace the memory it might be the problem with the memory.

Volume&thinkpad button

Most IBM / Lenovo Thinkpads have hardware volume control with apropriate buttons above the keyboard (volume up, down and mute). Gnome in Ubuntu is configured in such a way, that the keypresses are trapped (this is correct), apropriate volume window is displayed (correct) and Gnome volume control is modified. Last step is actually wrong - the keys in Thinkpads control the volume hardware directly, so every keypress turns the volume up/down regardless of sound card settings (in Ubuntu case - this would be Alsa mixer). Current behaviour results in volume being changed twice - for example if I press the volume up button, I get volume reduction via Gnome sound mixer plus volume reduction via hardware control. Effectively this creates an exponential (and not linear as it should be) volume change. In short - it is very difficult to control volume, especially relatively quiet sounds, with volume keys only.
The "patch" solution is to decouple Gnome mixer from hardware buttons. Of course it could be done manually, by deleting apropriate key actions in System->Preferences->Keyboard shortcuts, but this also disables windows showing volume. A better thing (but more complex) would involve reading /proc/acpi/ibm/volume and displaying the volume window according to this value at each volume button keypress.
I tested this on T21, T42 and Thinkpad 600. I guess only some R series notebooks (R31 etc.) would not be affected, as these do not have hardware mixer.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Press hardware volume key (eg. volume up) on a Thinkpad
2. Observe the volume change - it is changed in hardware mixer (correct) and in Gnome volume control (incorrect)

I hope this helps...

I can't get any sound out of my monitor. when I push the select I get the speaker w/music, select that.My color on th volume is green. I get no sound. I try to push the 1-2 reset button and nothing changes...

First use a try testing another source of sound, (say an Ipod or cd player) instead of your computer.

If that works the try troubleshooting the mute and volume controls on your computer.
