The printer was installed as a local printer for that machine. You might be able to access it in the "network neighborhood" settings on the other machines if they have permissions to access data on yours.

Can not log in on new computer

Windows 8 and 8.1 require a different setup process than the predecessors. http://www.howtogeek.com/188252/everything-you-need-to-know-about-signing-into-windows-8.1/

You have to set up an account, either a Microsoft or a local account. Microsoft accounts are online accounts. Local accounts are the traditional style of Windows user account. Your user account name and password are stored only on your computer. To use OneDrive, desktop settings sync, or other account-based features, you need a Microsoft account rather than a local user account. You can change your account choice later but you must set up one or the other.

How do you set up an account? By the ADD USER function. As I am the primary person using and configuring my computer, I make my account an administrators account.

Answer
Hi,
· Was there any change prior to this issue?
Personal files are located under c:\users\<username>\. You may try to access from that location and check.
Step 1: As a work around, perform system restore.
http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-is-System-Restore
Step 2: If that does not resolve, then check in new user account.
Check the link "Create a user account" http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Create-a-user-account
If the issue does not persist in new user account do the steps in the following link "Fix a corrupted user profile" http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile

Hi i need to restore my Phillips iqor computer to factory settings as i am getting rid if it and don't want to leave my personal information on it

You don't have to go thru all that trouble to get rid of your personal information. First just create a new user account with administrative rights that the person who is getting your computer will use. After you create the new user account reboot the computer and log on with the new account you created. Then Delete your old user account. It will delete all your documents, music, pictures, videos.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Accounts then create the new user account with Administrative Rights (not limited).

Reboot and and log on with the user account you just created.

Click Start/Control Panel/User Account and select the account you want to delete and Delete it. When asked about files to save, you want to delete everything associated with the account you are deleting.

If you have more than one user account you want to delete, do the same thing for it.

Got an error message 1935 while downloading software for a printer. tried sfc /scannow per kodak help tech, message said must sign on as administrator in console session to do this. how?

I think your system has many user accounts to log in. In your case I think you are logged in as other user in spite of administrator so the person who logs in as administrator has kept some securities so when you are trying to download anything it will ask administrator's permission,To avoid this type of errors always log in as administrator, or just remove securities from the administrator's account.

Thanks.
have a great day.

Anti spy on yahoo says i need administrative rights to work?

If you are using XP or later and you have established user accounts on your computer, or someone who actually controls your computer has created user accounts, there is a good possibility you do not belong to the "Administrative User group". If this is your computer, you will need to log in as an administrative user with the proper password, if you assigned one. If the computer is actually controlled by another person, you will have to get that other person (mom, dad, sister, brother, son, daughter, boss, neighbor, dude down the street, other person) to change you from "limited" to "administrative" user.

It is not my intention to be negative when I make reference to the person who controls your computer. If you cannot get in as administrator, evidently you forgot the process or someone else doesn't want you to be installing programs on the (their) computer.

These changes can be made by going to the control panel and opening USER ACCOUNTS (in XP). If you do have administrative rights, you can make the changes, if you don't, well then, Windows will not allow it.

I hope this information helps you

I want to know how to delete a standerd user account?

I you are using Windows, click "Start" then "Control Panel" then "User Accounts," then "Change an Account." Choose the account you wish to delete, then click "Delete Account" it will ask you if you want to keep the account's files, say yes only if you had something important on that account. NOTE:you can only delete accounts if you are a administrator.
If you are using a Mac, click "System Preferences" then "Accounts" then select the account you wish to delete and click the little minus sign at the bottom. NOTE: Like Windows, you can only delete accounts if you are an administrator.

Optiplex gx150 I get a message telling me it is loading my personal settings but doesn't load them.

Hi,
The problem you are facing is that , windows login screen has got corrupted and failes to load your profile.
Restart the computer and tap on the F8 key a couple of times .Select the option "Safe mode". Login as admin a/c.

Disconnect all peripherals except keyboard ,mouse ,monitor and power cord from the back of the tower.

Run a system restore
1.click start>all programs>accessories>system tool and system restore.

if the system restore doesnot work , then you would have to create a new user account .
1. click start>click control panel>click user accounts > create a new account

When I turn on the computer it takes me to the screen where your name is and asks for a password. I have tried everything to get in but it will not accept any pass word I type in. I'm not exactly sure...

This will only works if your computer(hopes windows running) has no password in safe mode.

just go to safe mode by pressin f8 key and then enter through administrator credits not the user name.
then go to the control panel and go to user accounts and then create a new account with admin credits and then restart and login with ur new account.
after that again go to user accounts from safe mode in control panel and delete the account that is password protected(which u forgot).
then the computer will work again.

WARNING- personal data in mydocuments and other folder related to the account will be deleted. if you didn't backup the account before deleting.
do backup from the new account.

Delete former user from laptop

Hi lily - If your running Vista here's how :

1. Log onto the computer using an account with administrator privileges.

2. Click the Start Button.

3. Click the picture associated with your account at the top of the menu.

4. Select Manage another account.

5. When the UAC box pops up, click Continue.

6. Select the user account that is to be deleted.

7. Click Delete the Account.

8. You will be asked if you wish to keep the files from the deleted account. To save the account's desktop and personal files to your desktop, click Keep Files. This will place the files into a directory with the account's name onto your desktop. Otherwise click the Delete Files button.

9. Click Delete Account.

If your Running Xp here's how:

Log on as you( by now I think everyone knows they should give themselves adminstrator priviledges)

Start>comtrol panel>user accounts>pick an account to change>delete account.

If this solves your problem PLEASE rate this as fixed. If you need more help just add a comment and I'll be happy to assist you further. Thanks.

Jeff
