Since the printer prints the test page from the driver, most likely the problem is with your Cardfive software. To test this, try printing a card on the printer from Microsoft Word or Notepad. Just remember to set your page size or you will get multiple cards printed. The Fargo printer is just a windows printer and may receive output from any windows software.

Hello, My DTC550 has stopped making cards with

You may have done some of this, but bear with me - the key to solving is to narrow the range of potential causes. These printers have a magnetic encoder module to write to the mag-stripe. There are 3 main areas that could cause the printed/encoded cards to not function, so you'd have to check/verify each before isolating it to the specific module.

  1. 1. The software package used to direct the printer for writing the encoding stripe;
  2. 2. The printer/encoder itself;
  3. 3. The access-control system (hardware/software) that reads the stripe and allows access to secured locations.

Without test equipment, you can't tell whether something has actually been written to the mag-stripe. But you should nonetheless verify the settings of your badge printing & encoding software. If you have access to a comparable printer to the DTC550, you can try the same badge software on it to see if it works there;

You should also check the logs written by the access control software. See what is written in the log when swiping a good card, then a bad (or blank) card. This MAY give you a time as to whether anything is written at all; written in a bad format; or even that the access controls haven't been established or enabled for that particular card.

By eliminating what it can't be, you should be able to isolate to the encoding module itself (or have solved otherwise). Once you're down to the only thing left, you can see about a repair or replacement. Repair can be anything from cleaning or re-aligning the current module, a bad data-connection to the module, or the entire module.

Bottom-line is that there may be many options before looking into a complete replacement.

I need drivers Eltron Zebra P310CM for Windows 7

Hi I solve this problem with a program called CardFive this program provides several drivers inside when you install it in Windows 7. I install CardFive 6.3. Note. this program don´t install a printer driver in Devices and Printers in Windows 7, only provides you a interface to print cards with your Eltron p310 and you can choose other printer models discontinued. My printer interface is parallel and works in Windows 7 With CardFive 6.3 pro.

My printer displays ribbon error. but there is ribbon inside

you can change which ribbon type is installed in the printing preferences of the printer driver.
make sure you have the right ribbon type selected.
CYMTKO vs. CYMTO, etc.

There is also a button that will auto detect the ribbon right underneath the pulldown menu.

Edge to edge print problem

The Fargo DTC550 will not be able to print an "over the edge" card. Any Direct To Card printers will have a white line on the edges. There are several printers that are able to print covering the entire card, those printers are called Reverse Transfer or Fargo's High Definition Printers. One printer that I do recommend is the Fargo HDP5000, you can read more about it at: http://printers.idcardgroup.com/productdetails.aspx?item=hdp5000

I cant print cards using cardfive software and magicard rio print

Hi There,

First of all, for Windows Vista, you need to be using the very latest driver (V6.02).
You can download this by following the link below;

http://www.magicardonline.net

Just enter your printer's serial number in the QuickSearch box.

Please Note: - With CardFive software, you need to scroll all the way down to the bottom of the printer list, then select the printer driver with the Windows logo next to it called 'Magicard Printer Series'.

If you still can't print from the CardFive software, can you print the Windows test page?

I hope this helps.

Regards,

MC.

Bad print heads

This is a continuing problem we have with our Fargo DTC550 printer. If you remove the printhead from the printer and look at the underside you will see a nick on the head in the same area you are getting a line on your card. Fargo claims we damaged the head due to not keeping the printer clean even though we clean at every ribbon change. I believe that the damage happens when a plastic debris (from the plastic card) gets between the card and the head. You must check your card stock to make sure there is no plastic debris on them. Bottom line, you have to replace the head and at the time it costs $700 per head.

Fargo DTC550

My printer is Fargo DTC550 and I'm using HID 1326 card for printing. I cannot get this equipment to function correctly. I had no
problems installing the software and hooking up the printer to make the ID
cards, but all attempts to print an ID card have failed. Every card I have
tried to make has been unsatisfactory, with colours not printing, very poor
image quality, and the lamination device consistently jamming for every
single card I have tried to make.
Sir, please help me.
