SOURCE: F1 error code on Kenmore Oasis He
My problem: My washer shows the F1 code at the beginning within a minute of hitting
start. If I hit stop twice (turn the washer off) and restart it, it
will usually work. I worry that eventually this resetting process will not restart the washer, though, and found this website.
My non-solution: In response to the solutions which post the number to call, I just called 800-659-7026 and the representative said that my model will be included in the recall. The only Oasis washer not included is model 110.27082600. He said that corporate is tied up in litigation. He has no estimated date for legal issues being resolved. Contrary to the other solution where a technician is coming out to fix the problem free of charge, my service rep said he could arrange service but that it would cost $60-70 for the visit, not including parts.
I aired my disbelief at this, but all I got was touchy-feely "I know how you feel, and if I had a washer I would feel the same way, if only they could hurry up with this litigation and we can get it going!".
This is unbelievable. I will try calling again, and in the meantime, I am glad that my washer still works.
SOURCE: I received an error on
The FL error code means:
Flood Condition:FL
flashes if any overfill condition occurs. This condition occurs when
excessive water in the tub causes the overfill switch to trip. The
control must realize that the trip was due to an overfill condition
instead of a suds lack condition in order for FL to be displayed
With an overfill condition, the beeper repeats a warning every 10
seconds with no time-out. The pump is cycled in drain mode for 30
seconds on, 30 seconds off until the overfill switch resets or power is
discontinued to the unit.
Press STOP/CANCEL to clear the display.
The problem could be caused by a blocked or bad water pump but also there is a back up valve or flap in the drain assembly that also sticks and some times causes problems with the FL Error code . If you remove the back up valve flap this can some times clear the problem.
There seems to be a lot of problems of this nature with this washer on the web. It seems there is aclass action law suit between the consumer and Whirlpoos/Kenmore. The phone
number to call to get more information. 1-877-567-4297. There is also
have a website to download the claim form http://calypsosettlement.com.
Depending on when you purchased your machine you might be able to file
a claim.
also if you don't qualify for that there is a replacement motor that was designed for the unit that works better than the old one but still seems to have trouble occasionally;-
The pump part number of the pump is 8054954. Here's a direct link:
http://www.partselect.com/PartSearchResult.aspx?PartNum=8054954
It's apparently easy to change the motor, so give it a shot. It's cheaper than a new washer (and partselect.com
is even cheaper than Sears, who want $120 for a new pump... and
another ~$100 to send someone out to install it!!).

I think there might be a recall on your washer call to see. I am not for sure that there is a recall but I a m pretty sure there is. So don't quote me on that. the f1 error code usually means that you have a bad board. f1 means that your pressure switch line is failing and this is all in your board. check your owners manual if whirlpool is not going to pay for this repair sometimes there are extended warranties in your manual

I GOT THIS OFF THE MANUAL, HOPE THIS HELPS.

Your Stainless Steel drum is supported inside of the washer tub by a spider assembly. The assemply, which is made of cast aluminum, has corroded (steel and aluminum and detegent don't mix) and the spider assembly has broken. The drum has likely wobbled enough to wear a hole through the tub. You need to replace the drum and spider assembly, and tub.
