Question about Chamberlain Power Drive 1/2 HP Chain Drive Garage Access System - Garage Doors &

1 Answer

I have a sears 1/2 hp garage door opener, model 139.53525 SRT. I followed directions to erase all remotes from memory and then followed directions for the SRT to learn from the keyless entry outside wall mount remote. The light blinked correctly. When I tried to use the remote, the green "smart" light blinked several times, but the opener would not work. What are possible problems?

Make sure you are doing it properly. Press and hold the button on the opener 6 sec to erase it. Then hold the desired button 'on the remote' down, while holding the button on the remote down press and release the button on the opener. The opener should be synced up with the remote then.

How do I program my Sears Craftmans 1/2 HP garage door opener

Stacy, get a ladder and climb up to the opener. The directions are there, but typically you press a button for x seconds, and then press a button on the remote. This handshakes the two units. continue for other remotes.

What if 1 remote is missing and i need to reset the remotes?

If you hold the smart/learn button in for 6 seconds it will erase the memory and none of the remotes will work. Now program the opener with your remaining remotes.

The green light on the motor unit is an LED and random flickering is normal. Your problem is most likely caused by an electrical storm or power surge. You will need to remove the logic board from the motor unit and check for burnt or missing traces on the printed circuit board especially around the small transformer. Your holding that button in will most likely have erased the memory of the unit and all your remotes will need to be programmed once you find your problem. I really suggest you call an technician at this point.

How do I change the code for the door opener and remote. I have a craftsman 1/2 HP garage door opener. I have door door openers and one remote with three buttons.

You cannot change the code of your remote or opener. It is set at the factory. If you have lost or have had a remote stolen and need to eliminate its possible use you can erase the memory of your opener by pressing and holding the smart/learn button for 6 seconds. That button is on the back of the motor unit near where all those white wires go. Now you need to program your remote by holding the large button down while you press and immediately release the smart/learn button.

Where to buy remote control and reset My garage door opener also

To erase the memory of the opener so that your old remote will no longer work you need to locate the smart/learn button on the rear of the motor unit. Press and hold this button for 6 seconds. No remotes will now work.

To program the new remote when you get it, hold the button down on the remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button.

Call any local door opener repair company from the yellow pages and you should be able to buy a remote from them.

I have model 139.53671 SRT gagrage door opener

If that is the right remote for the opener you need to locate the smart/learn button which is on the rear of your opener near where all those white wires go. Hold the button down on the remote and then press and immediately release the smart/learn button. It should now be programmed.
