Question about iiyama ProLite E481S-B 19" LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Hi, I have a IIyama Pro Lite E481S and it keeps turning off. It will only turn on for about half a second before turning off and returning to a black screen again. If you press the input button on the front of the monitor switch to standby and back on again, it will after a few seconds briefly flash on for half a second and go off again. I have another monitor exactly the same as this one. I used to run them both at the same time on my one desktop as a split screen until one stopped functioning properly. Now I am using only one and that still works fine apart from a couple of small shady patches on the screen. Can you help me please and tell me in plain terms why this keeps happening? How can I get my monitor to stay on? Many thanks, Rich.

Iiyama prolite e1902wsv white screen , no picture

From time to time, I've the same white screen problem with my IIYAMA E1902WSV.

I can resolve that issue with a reset to factory settings.
1- Turn ON power (blue led)
2- Push on the MENU button and keep the button pushed while
pulling out the power cord.
3- Plug the power cord back while keeping the MENU button
pushed.

You should see the picture again.

Iiyama ProLite E481S random shutdown

Hi,

If you're talking about a CRT that is going on "The Blink", yes this is where the name comes from. And this is becoming more and more of a problem you do indeed need a new monitor.

Three good places to shop online is :
newegg.com
zipzoomfly.com
tigerdirect.ca

Be certain what ever you buy is compatible with your current video display adapter. If your adapter has a VGA and a DVI socket than you can get either in a flat panel which is to say 60Watts vs 180 Watts in power consumption. The larger the flat panel the more power it consumes. More often than not, a 17 or 19" flat panel is more than sufficient. If you actually plan on sitting at your PC and watching movies go wider. If you are a hard core gamer go wider. Otherwise, a 17 or 19" monitor should serve you well.

do exactly this:
- power off monitor with the POWER button!
- unplug power cord
- hold -/+ and keep holding them when briefly pressing POWER to get the monitor back on
- press menu

You are now in the service menu. Adjust the settings as you like.

- press EXIT
- power off monitor with button
- power on monitor with button
- AUTO SETUP... will be performed
- re-adjust brightness/contrast

Done!

PC monitor wont come on.

Check that the power cord is fully plugged in first.

It is probably the inverter board inside the monitor.
(if the screen does properly display ever then it is not the screen)
It CAN be fixed but I do not suggest anyone open up a monitor (LCD or CRT) who is not "technically inclined."

If you really want to fix this particular one then take it to a local tech and get an estimate first. If it's almost as much as a new monitor then buy a new one.
