Rx-v1800 with check sp wires problem, narrowed it down to the center channell speaker which is 8ohms the rest of the speakers are 4ohms center speaker checks out fine on other receivers, could the ohm...

So are you saying the error goes away when you disconnect the center speaker and its cables? Sounds like you have one more step to isolate the exact external component: try a different speaker as the center and/or try a different speaker cable.

Did you set the speaker impedance (Page 33 and 117) to 6-ohm min. AND - the manual does actually say "the impedance of each speaker must be 6-ohms or higher" for all BUT the Front speakers.

Have no sound when I connect the rear speakers

Open the "Menu" on screen, go to "manual setup" then "speaker setup" check your settings on "surround rear" and "surround back" If your not using zone 2 and zone 3, in the menu for zone 2 amp, select "Ext" and "Ext" for zone 3. If you still have an issue, post a comment and I can help you some more. I am a Yamaha Dealer. Hope this helps

Yamaha rx v1800 receiever will only play tuner on zone 2 speakers

Solution on page 111 of the owner's manual:

"Connect the source component to the analog audio input jacks of this unit to play back the source in Zone 2 or Zone 3.
This unit does not output the audio signals input at the DIGITAL INPUT and HDMI jacks to the ZONE OUT jacks."

Basically you cannot use an HDMI input if you want to play in Zone 2 or 3. A simple solution is to add an extra audio cable from your PS3 audio output jack to an analog audio input jack on the receiver.

We want to hook up eight speakers in eight differnet rooms (one speaker per room with individual volume control) and hook them up with yamaha RX-V1800 receiver so that we can play all the speakers in...

Hi...
Without a huge mess, I would suggest one of the multi-speaker selectors that partsexpress.com sells or a similar item.
Just put "speaker slector" in their search engine.

If youre going to 8 other rooms..you might try a couple of wireless speaker systems too. They work in stereo and ....no wires

No sound when using Panny plasma with RX-V3800

Let me see if I understand. You have one HDMI cable linking your TV and AVR? This is only to send video and sound out to your TV from the AVR you will not be able to send sound back over this same cable. You'll have to use the TVs audio out and connect it to an input of the AVR. The "HDMI out" on the AVR is just that Out and not In. For more questions I'd recommend checking out the RX-V3800 RX-V1800 thread over on AVSforum.com

No zone 2 sound coming from yamaha amp rx-v861

Had same problem. A and B speakers are basically connected together, and there is no way to get the same volume out of each speaker. This is not a multi-source receiver like Onkyo. Zone 2 needs to go to a seperate amplifier and select teh correct source on the fornt,
