I can't, too much software installed that I would loose...

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

I use Vista Home Basic OS.

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

Yes, I did that. Downloaded and used Intel (R) PROSet/Wireless SEStub Setup Program. The first try I got Blue Screen and reboot, the second time it worked. But error 31 is still there. The strange think is that I cant uninstall de adapters and when I try to uninstall Cisco VPN the blue screen appears again.

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

    TKS anyway

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

Tks Ezrahite, but I don't understand step 5.

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

There's one entry called Network Adapters, is it the one I have to change?

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

Only Tape Drives and Dvd/cd-Rom Drives entries have upper and lower filters.

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

    I have 23 yellow flags there, six of them look like the entries in the registry. All of them begin with isatap. and many numbers like this { ...................................................................}

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

All the Network Adapters are in yellow. I reinstalled Intel Pro Wireless, but it didn't work.

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

    Fujitsu Siemens AMILO PI 1536

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

Excuse me, I'm still trying to install the drivers. Of course ill rate you, don't worry.

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

Finished with the updates and the registry, it din't work... Might be a corrupted ndis. sys file?

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

I have the restore Cd, but don't want to do it until the end. Too much software.... Are you thinking in a fake (in place) OS Upgrade?

  • santiagowies Mar 19, 2011

Well, in the meantime my girlfriend brought a new little Asus Eee. I will continue working without Internet in the old one tomorrow, I have to write a lot. After that i'll probably end up doing what you recommend. I won't do it know, here in Spain it is midnight and i've been trying to fix it all day.... Late tired might be a further pc disaster. Thank you very much, I'll accept your solution.

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If you have Error 31 and you already installed the drivers all you need to do is to edit the regsitry entries to fix the issue. Follow the steps below.

1. In the search box (Windows 7 and Windows Vista) or the Run text box (Windows XP) type regedit and click OK or press the ENTER key.

This will open the Registry Editor program.

2. Locate the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE folder under Computer/My Computer and click the '> or (+) icon next to the folder name to expand the folder.

3. Continue to expand folders until you reach the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class registry key.

4. Click on the + icon next to the Class key to expand it. You should see a long list of subkeys open up under Class that look something like this: {4D36E972-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}.

5. Click the registry subkey corresponding to the device's Class GUID that you determined in the last step.

6. In the results that appear on the window on the right, locate the UpperFilters and LowerFilters values

7. Right-click on UpperFilters and choose Delete.

8. Choose Yes to the "Deleting certain registry values could cause system instability. Are you sure you want to permanently delete this value?" question.

Repeat Step 7 with the LowerFilters value.

Note: You might also see an UpperFilters.bak or LowerFilters.bak value but you do not need to delete either of these. Deleting them probably won't hurt anything but neither one is causing the Device Manager error code you're seeing.

9. Close Registry Editor.

10. Restart the computer

If you have questions please let me know. Thanks for using Fixya

It should fix after installing the driver. Hmm you have the Installer for the Windows Vista Operating System? Possible to resinstall?

It might be that the registry have been damage due to many software that has been installed. We don't recomment Fake Os here at fixya it might caused you problems in the end. Best thing to do is to reinstall the OS then update the drivers.

What is the driver for microsoft 6to4 adapter #8

Hi Friend,

6to4 adapter is a component used for transmitting IPv6 packets trough IPv4 network correctly.

In some scenarios, there will be a code 31 or code 10 error appearing beside this component. A possible reason is, the network adapter doesn't support this feature. You may update the driver for your network adapter or chipset, and then try to Uninstall and reinstall the this component.

To Uninstall the component, right-click the item in Device Manager and select Uninstall.

To reinstall the component, in Device Manager, Action - Add Legacy Hardware - Next - "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list" - Network adapters - Microsoft - Microsoft 6to4 Adapter - Next - Finish the wizard.

If the steps above doesn't solve the problem, your network adapter is not a supportive one for this component. You can completely ignore this error, if there isn't IPv6 network deployed in the environment. The error won't affect your system.

To remove the error message, please right-click the Command Prompt and run as administrator, type the command netsh in 6to4 set state disable, press Enter. The component will be disabled and hidden.

Regards
Chiranjeet

Hello, i have a hp notebook which code 31 error on

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932520
Microsoft says to Ignore the problem, and the adapter will continue to work correctly. If the message is really annoying maybe you can try turning off IPv6.
Control Panel\Network and Internet\Network Connections

right click your network card>properties
uncheck the IPv6 box
that'll turn off IPv6-then just disable the adapter driver

Isatap adapter????error code 31,cant get onto internet, wont find my router or any other devices, really stuck on this one?

Use System Restore to revert device drivers and registry configurations back to a state previous to the Code 31 error. Be sure to choose a restore point from a date and time before you know or suspect that the Code 31 error first appeared. 8. Disable any hardware-based security on the device.

Toshiba satellite wont connect to internet. Wireless network adapter showing vista error code 31. Any ideas

Try removing the wireless adapter in the device manager and then re-boot computer. Vista should detect the adapter and re-install the drivers. if that does not work you might want to download the latest drivers and software from Toshiba and install them. Another thing you can try is to use windows restore to return the computer to a time when the wirless adapter was working.

Error code 31 4 to 6 network adapter

Check these things:
  1. Is you Ethernet adapter Active
  2. Is your Cable the correct one (NOT a cross over)
  3. Refresh your IP Address for your Ethernet Card
  4. Reboot your computer and power down your modem, then power the modem up AFTER your windows is logged on
  5. Verify your modem "really" can connect, use another computer.
  6. Verify the are no network issues with your ISP
