Question about Fellowes Office Equipment & Supplies
Seems like the bin full light keeps coming on even there is no paper in the basket. This issue happens when machine has a false reading, like bin full light comes on but the shredder basket is empty. To correct the problem, just check the sensor and remove the dirt on it. Please follow the steps below for additional troubleshooting.
1. Locate the sensor. Please locate the sensor on the bottom side of the shredder head.
--> pull the basket from the unit, and remove the shredder head from the cabinet. Pull straight up to remove it. You may need assistance to do this because the shredder head will be heavy.
2. On the bottom side of the shredder head, find the 2 raised plastic housings ( it is like a shamrock or clover ). It has 2 metal screws in each. Now, on each of these casings, facing each other you can locate the sensor which look like "small glass beads" or "marbles". Wipe the sensor with a soft cloth dampened with plain water.
--> these procedure most often solve the problem. I recommend to periodically clean this sensors along with routine maintenance on the machine.
If this does not solve your issue, please contact the manufacturer.
