Question about Yamaha RAV-250 Remote Control
What you can do is check and see if the remote is actually sending signals to your receiver. If you have a digital camera or camcorder, this is an easy test to do. Make sure that you have working batteries in the remote. Aim the remote at the camera, and look through the viewfinder of the camera. You should be able to see the remote flash as it is sending the codes. If you do see the flash then you know that your remote is sending, and the problem would be with the receivers remote receiver, or the decoding circuit of the receiver. If you don't see the flashes then you know the remote is not functioning. At this point you will have to check with your local Yamaha repair shop to see if you can still get a replacement, and how much that would cost you.
Another option is to look at some of the Universal remotes that are made by companies such as Logitech. You can program the newer remotes by downloading codes from the manufacturers website. This may allow you to stop having to use multiple remotes for all of your equipment.
