CAN'T FIND WHERE INK CARTRIDGE IS TO BE INSTALLED ON THIS LEXMARK PINNACLE PRO 901 NEED TO INSTALL BLACK AND YELLOW WOULD BE NICE TO KNOW WHERE THEY GO IN.

SOURCE: Installed new black ink cartridge on Kodak ESP7. Cannot get rid of Error Message (saying need to install black cartridge!). Help!

Kodak had a batch of bad cartridges, I got 3 of them. All come from China. I used the online chat to describe the problem. They promised to send me new cartridges.

Printing color images in black helps to conserve ink in your color print cartridge.
What to do

  1. Load the paper into the printer.

  2. With your document open, click File, then Print. The Print dialog box appears.

  3. In the Print dialog box, click Properties, Preferences (or Options).

  4. To print color images in black and white:


    • In the Print Properties dialog box, select the Quality/Copies tab.

    • Select Print Color images in Black and White.

    • Click OK.

Visit this Link and go to page no. 20. On that page some steps are given on resetting the printer to default setting. This will also reset the ink level on the printer.

      Black ink tank is full-printer says empty!


      Run a head cleaning mode this will usually fix the problem. If the machine hasn't been used for a while you might have to get in there with a q-tip a denatured alcohol and clean it.

      Lexmark pinnacle pro 901 quit copying in color


      Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent ink drying out and blocking the print head nozzles.
      If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages, then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
      It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer than replace the print head.

      I have a Lexmark Pinnacle Pro 901 printer and its set up to print using black ink only, but it keeps telling to replace color cartridges and it won't let me print at all, how do I print using blac


      The printer would need all cartridges to have sufficient ink levels to continue printing - that's to prevent damaging the printhead. Every time a cartridge is replaced, all colors are primed simultaneously thus the need for all cartridges to have ink.


      To save on your ink investment, try printing in draft mode and by making sure that your printing preferences is set to print using black ink only.

      My Pinnacle Pro 901 is set to print using black ink only but it keeps telling me I need to replace color cartridges and won't print.


      You won't be able to print if one of the cartridges is out of ink. The printer needs all cartridges with sufficient ink levels to prevent damaging the printhead.

      Every time a cartridge is replaced, all colors are primed simultaneously thus the need for all cartridges to have ink.

      Touch the Ink Levels on the touch panel of your printer, press on More Options > Replace Printhead > Open the cover > release the latch > Pull the printhead.

      How to change the default printing to Quick Print and black and White on Lexmark Pinnacle Pro 901,


      On your computer, click on Start > Printers and Faxes > Right Click on the Lexmark icon > Properties > Advanced > Printing Defaults > Click on Print using black ink only > OK.

      My lexmark pinnacle pro 901 keeps resetting it self or rebooting itself. Anybody have a solution?


      Try to rebrick your printer. Pull out power supply, black box where the power cord is plugged in at the back of the printer, and put it back after 30 seconds.
      Also, make sure your printer is updated. Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark Pinnacle Pro901 Firmware Update.
      If the problem continues, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for additional assistance.

      I have a pinnacle Pro 901. How do I print in black & white only?


      Hello, try this: Start Menu, > Printers and Faxes> then right-click on your printer. Move the pointer down to 'Printing Preferences' and click the 'Advanced' tab. There you will (should!) see 'print in greyscale' . Select this then click 'Apply' then 'OK' at the bottom of the page.
