Very easy to replace, ice maker is held up by 3 or 4 screws. Only remove the bottom screw(s) completely. Loosen the top screws, then lift ice maker up and then out. All you need to do now is unplug.
Putting it back in is just as easy. just reverse instructions above. Be careful of the filler tube that comes in, you have to make sure it goes back thru the hole in the ice maker.

GE Refrigerator--model TFX24ZRXA. Replaced water valve. Removed icemaker to replace the dispenser motor. Plugging in the icemaker causes the circuit breaker to trip now.

Obviously you have a short in your wiring somewhere. perhaps one of the terminals for the dispenser motor were not securely attached. Is there any water in either plug for the icemaker, since breaker trips when you plug that in? Did you plug icemaker in correctly? You can reply here or send me a question from my website: www.FixMyFridge.net

My side by side won't stop making ice

Check the sensing arm on the side of the icemaker. The arm stops the icemaker when your bucket fills and the arm cant move all the way out and then back in. Make sure the ice is building up in the arms way so the arm can sense it. Otherwise the only other option is to replace the icemaker itself. GE does not sell parts for the icemaker and the only repair for it is replace it. Hope this helps you.

How do i replace a GE ice maker

It's not too difficult. The icemaker is usually held in place with several screws. After the screws are loosened, the unit can be moved a bit. Then, there is usually a plug-in wiring connector that must be removed.

Installation of the new one is the reverse of the removal.

I have a PSS26 ge profile fridge and it quit making ice

The icemaker is bad . You have an electronic icemaker and the internal boards cannot take the freezing and the heat (freezing moisture) . Just replace the icemaker .

Replacing icemaker in GE GSH25JSTE side by side refrigerator.

generally its very easy. for your model it looks like the icemaker goes across the rear of the freezer section. if you will look on the left hand wall on the icemaker you will see a philips head screw remove this screw and pull the icemaker towards you and it will come out then unplug the wiring harness (this is probably the hardest part) there are 2 clips that keep the harness connected securley and you sometimes have to use a small blade screw driver to release them. onec icemaker is removed you have to remove the fill cup and the end stop off of the icemaker and reinstall on the new icemaker. one done just reinstall and turn it on. youre done!! BTW the new icemaker mostlikely will not have the green light the old one did so dont think youve got the wrong icemaker.. let me know if you need any further help Thanks Peyton

GE Profile icemaker will make ice but won't dump into the tray

GE uses an electronic icemaker that is not field serviceable. if the Icemaker is getting water then something in the icemaker has failed and the complete icemaker must be replaced. the part number is wr60x10093 I believe and can be purchased online and many different places or thru local appliance parts supply house. thanks peyton

Icemaker not working, freezer not getting cold enough....

Try using an hairdryer or defrosting the unit completely , this often get rid of blockage caused by frozen lines fixing the problem.

The water lines can also be unblocked from dirt using a thin flexible shaft. This after defrosting.

If all that does not fix the problem, then you may need to replace the water valve, the icemaker solenoid, or the whole icemaker assembly.

Enter the model number on one of two websites below to get parts and diagrams for your appliance:
