Lost remote can't program channels - Sylvania 6319CE 19 in. TV/VCR Combo

You have to have factory remote to scan channels. Universial remote will not work.

I might be missing something here, but if YourTV has the basic controls on the TV itself, such as on/off volume, and channel select, then just turn on tv, and set it to channel 3.
Use your converter box remote to scan for channels, and other options it has as needed.

hold down code until it stays lit, then press tv then keep hitting channel up or channel down (either one can be used, keep pressing channel button til tv changes channels when it does press enter, or ok if enter is not there, it may take awhile maybe a few channel pushes up to 200 and up times, you use this method when you don't know the code for your tv. Hope this helps.

Get an inexpensive universal remote and program it for your Toshiba. The instructions for the remote will lead you through programming for your Toshiba.

Universal remotes don't like combo units.If your original reomte worked before you lost it you are going to have to buy the original remote to solve your problem.

Great News!! We can program most Philips Universal Remotes with Automatic Code Searh. Here's how it works on most of our remotes.

Programming with Code Search

1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.

2. Press and hold Code Search button until the red indicator stays on. Release the Code Search button.

3. Press and release the desired mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blink, then stays lit.

4. Press the Channel Up button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device could be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit. If you accidentally overshoot the code required, press the Channel Down button to backtrack through the library until the device changes channel. Pressing Channel Up changes direction to forward again. Press and release the Mute button to install the code.

The above assumes that you want to store the VCR you want under the VCR but, Cable codes under the CBL, etc

Note: if the device does not have a chat channel at a button, you should Play (VCR only) or Power instead.

This is the user's manual for a Phillips remote control. There is a list of codes in it. They should be rather universal. There's also instructions as to how to program it. I believe that there is a way to program it without using the codes.

this is embedded in the control chip of the remote and is rom..best to replace remote i personnaly have lots of luck repairing usually find cracked solder joints..remotes witstand lots of abuse but do break! john
