Maybe the stick wasn't in the camera ..or the camera wasn't set to store on the stick (card ) ..and they are stored on the internal memory of the camera..To see if it is so ..remove the card from the camera ..and try to see what pictures can be seen without the card ..If they appear..than they are stored in the internal memory and to be able to download them you need the driver software ..and with the memory card removed ..plug the data cable ..and import the pictures....
Or ..if you do not have the cable available ..choose from the menu to view the internal memory ..open the picks one by one ..and in the options choose to move (copy ) them into the card ...

Why the memory stick don't show the pics on the camera

There are several different memory sticks and the are not fully compatible. Be sure you bought the right memory stick for your camera Refer to the manual. Check in the computer if there are any pictures at all on the memory stick. Please don't copy pictures from another camera to the stick to view them on a camera. Most camera's only can show the jpg pictures that were shot with that oa a same camera. Even in one brand of camera's there can be differences in the file you want to view.

Says to reinsert memory card & card is in camera. Try another card & says memory stick formatting error

i have the same problem..
I have a Sony Cybershot DSC T70 and it keeps saying "Reinsert memory stick" whenever I turn on the camera or slide down the camera lid. Also, whenever I try to view the pictures on my laptop it shows "Please reinsert the memory stick" something along those lines. As I have been researching for the solution, I would have to format the memory card. However, I wouldn't want to lose the pictures as I just took many as from the holiday last week. The only problem is the memory card, I tried using another memory card and it works fine with the camera. There is nothing wrong with the camera.\r\nCan someone please help me how to solve the memory stick problem? It would be great. Ty.

Will not allow me to view pictures I just took

Try to recover what is left on the memory stick with TestDisk on a pc.
Note, download the windows version and not the dos/windows version, the
dos/windows version is for windows 3.11 and lower.

http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Download

Try to fomat the card afterwards if this does'nt help at all try another card in
your camera, if the other card works replace your other card else get te camera autorized repairs man.

Succes.

I have a sony dsc-f717 took several pictures and now i get format error 13:01 and can't retrieve the photos I've took and veiwed. Help retrieving

1st, try and download the pictures via your computer and a memory card adapter. If you're computer doesn't recognize the card through an adapter,

2) go to www.ita.sel.sony.com
Search by the model number of the Memory Stick. There is Memory Stick recovery software. follow the steps for the download and recovery.

3) On new/blank memory cards, I sometimes have to format the MS in the camera first, then everything works fine.
