Question about Texas Instruments TI 30XIIS Scientific Calculator

# I am trying to find the variance can this be found with the TI-30X II S I have the Texas Instruments TI-30 X II S on solar batteries, it has 2nd function but i am not sure how to find the summation for calculation of the standard deviation

So you press 2nd Function , select 1-Var or 2-Var (for paired datat) then enter your data pressing down arrow after each and Enter to finish then press STAT / VAR to see the various variables

The following examples will demonstrate how to convert decimals into fractions using the TI-30Xa and TI-30Xa Solar. Please be aware that TI-30Xa Solar School Edition calculators do not have this functionality.

Example: Convert .25 to 1/4
- Input .25, press [2nd][<--] (says F<>D above it).

** F<>D means fraction to decimal, decimal to fraction.

Example: Convert 1.38 to 1_19/50

- Input 1.38, press [2nd][<--].

Example: Convert 9.75 to 9_3/4

- Input 9.75, press [2nd]{<--].

Enter the number 3 then hit 2nd button then the ^ button(cubed root), enter the number under the radical sign then enter.

### How to do nPr or nCr on TI-30x Solar (scientific calc.)

If you have an older version on the TI30x Solar (not TI30Xa or newer) then you must use a different key sequence for nPr/nCr.

52 [2nd][x/y] 5 [2nd][nCr] gives 2598960 (the x/y button is above the Pi symbol on my version).
8 [2nd][x/y] 3 [2nd][nPr] gives 336

This took me forever to find out, so hopefully it will help someone!

Hello,
Press [2nd][OFF] to turn it off. If it is the solar version, just cover the face of calculator with the slide cover.

### Standard Deviation

Press 2ND [CSR] to clear the stat data.

For each data point, enter the number followed by SIGMA+

If you have grouped data, enter the number followed by 2ND [FRQ] followed by the frequency then SIGMA+

Press 2ND [sigma x n] for the population standard deviation or 2ND [sigma x n-1] for the sample standard deviation.
