Hello The Sled Motor is defective. this is the motor, whic spins the disc as it has been loaded properly. If the loader mechanism loads the disc properly into place and if the catch up magnet catches the disc in place, and still the dis do not spins, replace the sled motor. OK.
HelloCheck the sled motor. it is the motor that spins the disc inside, as soon as it has been loaded. Check the voltage comes to the leads of the motor first. If the voltage is there, and the motor does not spins, repalce the motor. It is a stepper motor, can be bought from most of the electronic spare part shops at your town. it is not a very colstly component. OK.
If you can disassemble the CAP(disc holder) and place it on the disc while it is on the spindle and at the same time push the (hidden)lid switch you will see the lazer"s lens move up and down while trying to focus on the disc. If the lazer see's the disk it will tell the motor to turn. If it dosn't see the disc it will not turn the motor. Some model will kick the disc to spin a little while trying to see the disc. This type of player can be tricked into seeing the disc if you spin the disc a little by hand when the lazer's lens is moving up and down. At that point in time it might see the disc and take over the motor and spin up to normal speed. If the disc is an illeagal copy sold as a original the quality of the disc could be the cause. If the player is very clean (no small hairs stuck to the glue that holds the lens in place) (never clean with a cotton swab, use a shammie swab with rubbing alcohol or isopropal 99%) the problem could also be that the lazer is just not strong enough and the whole lazer-motor assemble should be replaced. Older units could use 1 drop of light motor oil on the motor shaft at the bearing to help start the motor when the system kicks the disc to spin. If the player reads the disc at the time you manually spin the disc maybe a good cleaning and oiling is all that is needed. The disc spins clockwise. if the disk spins counter clockwise replace the whole assemble. Maybe simpler, just give the disc a good clockwise spin and quickly close the door and push play while the disc is still spinning. if it starts, there you go. Don't use caned air on the lazer assemble. it will blow the dirt further into the lazer mechanism under the lens and make matters worse! Good luck!!
If its not a power problem, notice that the servo motor is spinning or trying to spin with a disc in the tray.
-listen carefully for a high pitch or whinning sound of the motor.
-do you have a reading on the screen? No disc or reading disc?
One of the above can be:
1- a defective laser (it wont illuminate)
2- a broken flat cable to the laser (you wont hear clicking sound when reading)
3- a bad servo motor that can not reach its speed to read the disc (has to spin at a very high speed)
If the spindle motor wont spin the media upto speed it will never read the DVD, looks like you might need a new motor, take the lid off with the power OFF and see if this is the case if so then if you give it a little push with the power ON and it works then its a new motor required.
The motor is on its way out - the H02 code indicates motor failure as
in it cannot spin the disc. You can sometimes fix it but for how long
is anyone's guess. Disconnect from the power, remove the three rear
screws and two screws on each side (total 7) and lift off the outer
cover. Now if you carefully reconnect the power BE VERY CAREFUL NOT
TO TOUCH ANY PARTS INSIDE THE CASE and put a DVD disc in as per normal,
you'll will see that when the tray closes, the upper platen (a
honeycomb disc) that sandwiches the DVD to the lower platen does not
spin - it should. Give a gentle spin clockwise and it should spin up
and the DVD will play. You may need to restart if you missed your
chance first time. If you switch off and on, eject and close the tray,
the spin should happen as normal. If it doesn't, your motor is knackered
and not an economical repair. Buy a new player. If it spins time and
time again, you may well have temporarily fixed it for a while.
