    oh,that dosn't sound good!
The drum spins freely by hand and it starts to spin(about 3 seconds)stops, then tries again for about 3 seconds then stops, then flashes...

Would the fact the drum spins freely by hand and when i try the spin cycle it does actually spin for 3 seconds, stops and then spins for another 3 seconds help point to the exact fault,i'm very confident in carrying out a repair but would like to get it right first time...
    Thanks
    Steve

Hi

Two things can cause this issue...first when the washer is unable to drain completely it won't spin, to solve this you can take off the bottom front panel and then clean the drain pump assembly. If the water is draining fine then the issue can be with the door lock assembly and should be replaced. If the door lock sends signal to the control that the door is not closed the washer won't spin. Hope this helps...please post back for further assistance.

    That's
fine....7 blinks means Motor jammed / drum
shaft jammed / techno generator fault and is not a DIY repair.
    Hope this
helps...please post back for further assistance.

hi christina,,,its dont centrifugate???????? hmmm! do you mean spin?
or it dose spin,,, but dont pump out? if its not spining there is a program fault,,,or motor fault,,,,if it dont pump out,,,thats a pump fault,, program fault or a blocked filter,,,the pump has its own motor,,,however if there is a program fault that could cause the pump to fale to pump as well???

My hoover soft wave wash and dryer spins normally but will not drain. the hose is clear, also the waste pipe?

If you have not checked the filter, then you must do so, it is usually located at the bottom front left of washer.
If it has a screw in the handle, then undo the screw first, then unscrew anti-clockwise to remove and clean.

Thankyou.

Machine washes o.k. but does'nt spin dry (hoover soft wave auto - washer 1000 )

If you have not already done so, I suggest you remove the motor, and check the brushes for wear.
Please rate my solution.
Thanks.
