Make sure the governor linkage is clean and works freely. A lot of times when you put a load on the machine, use it it stopps the fluttering.

When using the pressure washer it doesn;t kick into high pressure mode or it won't stay on high pressure. what causes this? the motor seems to run fine.

It sounds like a dirty carburetor. The carb needs to be removed and cleaned. The loping problem you speak of is a tell tale sign that something is partially blocking a jet or passage in your carb. If you are not sure of how to do it, bring it to a repair shop. To set choke cable, you want choke valve wide open when lever is pushed in and valve closed when lever is pulled/ There should be a screw you can loosen to move cable forward or backwards to adjust. Throttle cable should be snug at low idle when lever in bottom position. There should be a set screw for low idle already set if it hasn't been adjusted yet. Same process to adjust this cable, watch that throttle valve opens completely when throttle lever is all the way up. Good luck, hope this helped.

Have a Honda 1000 generator and it lopes even after it warms up. Moving the choke lever closer to choking stops the lopping but that does seem right. Sounds like it is isn't getting enough fuel but not...

By loping, assume you mean surging? I fixed that problem on my larger generator by making sure the fuel tank, fuel lines, fuel filter, carburetor, bowl, etc were all clean and free of contamination, old/varnish, jets clean, etc. I used spray carb cleaner very carefully and compressed air, and seemed to get most of it, although they do sell cleaner kits with those wire sets that work better.

This really sounds like a carb problem, good to hear that you are taking the carb all the way off and soaking it, this is the best way to clean a carb. I don't think it would be the fuel pump, they either work or they don't. I would check the governer springs and linkages, if one of these is hung up on something it would cause the problems the you have identified. Also, when you re-install the carb make sure that you have all the gaskets installed, it is easy to forget one and that will cause the engine to **** air and make the whole engine run like ****.

Pressure washer with Honda Engine GC160 only run with choke fully closed.

The carb is clogged. It needs to be cleaned, or replace. Keep in mind some of the carb passageways are as small as a human hair so they are difficult to clean which is why I mention replacing. You can try using carb cleaner etc in the gas, but I don't think it will work if you need the choke that much.

Karcher pressure washer with Honda GC160 engine only runs on chok

You need to remove the carb bowl, then with a small flat screwdriver remove the jet. ( on the side, at the bottom of stem.) take a small wire or toothpick and clean the gunk out of the jet, reassemble and open fuel valve, start, and pat yourself on your back.

% hp Honda Motor runs on choke

Dear LC39B,
Is it possible you are blaming the wrong part of the machine? Did you try the Honda Motor on its own? I am asking , because if the pump of the washer has some fault or a bit jammed, this will demand a lot of power from the Honda. You can try the Honda with no water connection and no gun.
Regarding the Honda motor, you should check the electrical system also. I am saying this because you did not mention it, in your service procedure.

Choke needs to be on all the time

your problem is in the carb. for some reason there is a stoppage or clogg in the venture opening that feeds the main passage to the manifold. that is the little pipe connecting the carb to the engine.the choke being on causes the engine vaccum to **** gas from other resourses in the carb to run. also check to see if throttle butter fly is moving freely.there may be a defect with the carb and they will have to replace. running the engine with choke on causes it to run rich and will foul the plug eventually . also not good on gas . will use way more than it should. also co2 level way up.
