Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

There is a serious problem with my sister's computer. When she logs on the screen is blue instead of the customized picture she set and the desktop is completely rearranged. She also said she cannot get on the internet, but when she spoke with her ISP, they told her everything was fine. I asked her did my niece know anything, if she does, she's not saying anything! I suggested my sister try to restore her computer to an earlier time and when she tried it wouldn't let her! What can she do?

My laptop is on but the screen is blue and won't go to the desktop

A Mac that shows you a blank blue screen instead of logging you in may be afflicted by a malfunctioning startup item. Most people have a number of programs that start up whenever you log into your computer, and it's likely that one of these programs is causing issues. The startup item is unable to load, and so it causes the rest of the computer to hang.
In order to get your Mac past this hanging blue screen, you need to boot into safe mode and figure out which startup item is causing problems. The Apple Support article "I see a blank blue screen when I try to start up my computer" tells you exactly how to go about this procedure. Basically, you must remove all your startup items and add them back in one-by-one, rebooting each time until you find the one that causes the hanging blue screen.

Mitsubishi WD-52525

Normal 0 The Mitsubishi WD-52525 has a serious capacitor problem as discussed in this forum overseen by a Mitsubishi certified repair technician: http://www.hometheatershack.com/forums/mitsubishi/11703-problem-mitsubishi-wd-52525-scrambled-picture-no-picture-2.html. There has been a worldwide problem in computers and TVs over thepast several years with faulty electrolytic capacitors (from Taiwan) thatdecay, dry out, swell and die. The power supply is often the firstcomponent to go bad, but other systems also degrade over time. As theforum explains , this problem is widespread in these sets causing multipletypes of display problems after several years of use. On my set, I also got a blue screen with a lighter blue ball in the middle. Mitsubishi is awareof the problem and will cover most of the cost of repairing the chassis, evenyears out of warranty, but apparently ONLY if you get an estimate from aMitsubishi certified repair station and contact their customer support BEFOREdoing any work on the set. I just followed the recommended procedure onthat forum and Mitsubishi is covering half the cost of my $700+ repair when my3+ year-old set recently died and showed only this blue screen on all inputs.

My little sister put a pass code on the log in screen. She does not have this computer anymore and i can"t change eneything on the computer. the reinstall disc i have will not work becacuse her pro...

One thing you should try first is to get ahold of your sister and get the pass word from her. Then you can go in to her account and go to controll pannel then to user profiles, then change a profile, select your profile and set it to administrator. This will give you the permissions to change things on the computer. If you are unable to get ahold of her, you can also go the route of pressing F8 at start up, and select safe mode as your start up choice. Once you get to the log in screen select Administrator, hopefully she has not changed the settings for this account. If you are able to log into the puter this way then simply go into controll pannel and do the same with your account. Change it to administrator. Then restart the computer and log into your account as normal.
