SOURCE: TV turns off and on

you have bad electrolytic caps in the power supply---remove power supply replace swollen caps--if you do not think you can replace caps try shopjimmys.com enter model number scroll down to find power supply-if they do not have in stock write down part number then google it to find one

SOURCE: my tv turns off by itself and makes a clicking noise

Most likely it has some bad capacitors in the power supply. Flat--panel sets are VERY hard on capacitors, due to the fact that the "rising heat' from the set "cooks" the caps and they fail VERY early.

SOURCE: Samsung LNT4661FX/XAA 46 in. HDTV LCD Television -

Got to Samsung's support site and fill out a request:
http://www.samsung.com/us/support/service/request

You will be contacted by your regional repair center. I'm located in Milwaukee, WI and was contacted by a repair center in Elgin, IL, which is 60 miles away.

The regional center said they think it probably is a electrolytic capacitor issues, as multiple models of Samsung LCD's have this issue. They have defective (too low voltage) capacitors which will eventually give out. Unfortunately he said my model was not on the list they have for a free fix. He gave me the number to Samsung's Executive Customer Relations department, which I then called immediately. The woman there checked and found that my model indeed was covered - she updated the Support Request, and instructed me to call back the regional repair center.

I called back the regional repair center (immediately after finsihing with the ECR) and got a different person on the phone, and gave them my ticket number from my original request. He said since ECR updated it stating my model was covered they would fix it for free. If it's not the capacitors that are causing the problem I will be charged a 150$ fee, plus any parts required to fix the TV. I agreed to that since my local TV repair quoted me 200$ to fix the capacitor issue alone.

Today is January 25th, they have me scheduled to have a repair tech come to my place January 7th to do the repair.

You can fix the capacitors yourself for very cheap, maybe 20-30 bucks if you don't have anything: soldering gun/solder/flux/capacitors/etc...

I'd just go through the service request path, get it fixed for free and have a professional do it. Total time for me was 2 minutes for the service request, 10 minutes on phone for regional repair center, 10 minutes for ECR, 5 minutes for regional again. The repair is expected to take 15 minutes - most likely they'll just swap out the entire power supply board rather than the individual capacitors. Basically 1 hour of time to save minimally 150-250 dollars. I bet not many people asking to fix this make 150 bucks an hour...pretty simple math I think.

The tv does not turn on right away, ther are clicking sounds before it comes on

It sounds like faulty capacitors inside the set, this model is known for this problem. Are you looking to repair yourself or just looking for a repair estimate?

My samsung tv is making clicking noises and won't turn on

Clicking noises may mean a power supply voltage is not staying correct or that board is bad---a suggestion: visit shopjimmy.com who has by model number a list of all the boards used in almost every Samsung Flat screen set made.

Samsung plasma 50in PS50B550 clicking noise

The clicking could be a loose connecction of the power plug or frrom the main power unit of your TV. Remove your plug and see the ends for burn outs, if so clean and use a different outlet. If not open the set after disconnection and check your main power supply unit for loose connection particularily in the surge protector, the main capacitor, the main drive, diodes or connectors. Wait to hear the sound and use a long insulated rod as a probe to confirm the origin of the sound. Solder or replace the damaged item. Hope this helps . Good day

Samsung LCD HD TV Model # LN-S4041D > 4 years old - working fine until today - While watching TV, I heard 2 loud beeps and the TV image was lost - initially frozen pixels and some moments later .......

Th clicking is from the power relay. You will have to open it up, the first place to look will be the power supply module, look to see if it has any bad caps with leaking/bulging tops first, caps can look OK but can be bad due to high ESR.

Goes off & comes back on.. now stays off Samsung model LN46A540P2

This could be 2 things, a main board or a power supply. I have replaced many main control boards on samsungs and it solved the problem. But sometimes it could be the power supply. You will need to test the voltages on the power supply to rule out the power supply being bad.
