Plugged in not charging

There could be several things wrong. You could have a broken DC jack on your motherboard. To prove this, wiggle the DC jack with the adapter plugged in. If the charging light comes on when you wiggle the jack, then your jack is broken. You could also have a defective AC adapter.

Dosent work no light

1. Take the battery out of the laptop & try to turn on the laptop using power adapter only. If the computer turns on, then the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.
2. Make sure the power adapter is not defective. Test the output voltage of the power adapter using a voltmeter. Compare the voltmeter reading to the nominal value written on the adapter or the laptop.
3. Make sure the DC jack is not loose or broken. A loose DC jack will need to be re-soldered. A broken one will need to be replaced.
4. If you have another processor which is compatible with your laptop's model, try swapping processors & test to see if the laptop will work.
5. The power button could be bad.
6. The motherboard could be defective & needs to be replaced

Plugged in and not charging

simple, either the power adapter is bad or the DC jack is broken. The adapter can be tested with a multimeter / voltmeter or by plugging it into another laptop of the same model and checking if it charges that one. If the adapter is bad replace it, if the adapter is good then you will need to take it to a shop to repair the DC jack. Do not take it to geek squad or other big-box retailer and do not pay more that $75 for a DC jack replacement.
