Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

It sounds as though the water level sensing is misbehaving because it should not allow 'too much' water in but just the correct amount.
It could be a simple fault like the level sensing pipes and tubes have an air leak so that the sensor does not get triggered. Sorry but you will need a service call ;-0(
Good luck,
John C

Water runs out and never fills the washer continues to run water but does not close off to allow fill

Debbie,
Check your drain hose to make sure that it has not been shoved to far down your drain pipe. Also check to make sure that the top of your drain pipe is at least 30" above the floor, but check with a plumber from your area to make sure of what the codes are in your area. Usual for a lot of areas is a minimum of 30" up to 48" above the floor. If your hose is pushed down too far into the stand pipe or it is too short, you will cause a siphon effect and that will keep water from filling your machine. Hope this helps!

My whirlpool won't fill up all the way. It just keeps pouring water and draining.

The drain hose MUST be routed higher than the console, or it will continue to drain. There must be a vacuum break (not tightly sealed will work) at the intersection between the hose and the drain pipe.
There is actually no drain valve that keeps the water in, but rather the physics of routing the drain hose HIGHER than the console of the machine. At minimum higher than the machine's top deck.

Our kenmore stackable washing machine on the rinse and wash cycle is not filling up with water. the water keeps running out

Make sure the drain hose is not pushed too far down the drain pipe. It could cause a siphon effect and drain the tub.

Make sure the drain hose is not tight in the drain pipe. It should fit loose so as not to trap the air which can also cause a siphon effect.

Water drains out during wash cycle

it's being sucked out by siphoning through your sewer pipe .Probably a siphon problem . Check your drain hose to make sure hose is not stuffed too far down drain and air can get between the hose and the drain pipe . If you have tapped the hose to the drain to keep water from coming out the drain pipe , go to home depot or an appliance parts house , and get a siphon break . When a washer fills , but water level doesn't rise in the machine ,

is it filling and draining at the same time ? if so take the drain house out of the stand pipe (wall) make sure it is oinly in 5-6 inches if it is in too far it will create a syphone where it will fill and drain at the same time and never advace the cycle. you should always hear water going down the drain if you can't it is down too far. let me know how it goes

Washer fills up than starts draining while in wash cycle

Hello , here is the fix-your drain hose is placed to low in the drain line in the wall, it can not be placed in water or it will siphon the water out of your washer into the drain pipe and it wont stop until it hits air. try pulling your drain hose up and out of the drain and get a zip tie or cable and tie it to one of the water valves by the drain pipe placing the end of the drain hose about 5-6 inches inside the drain pipe. Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck it will work.

Whirlpool Washer - Imperial Series Quiet Wash 2

your washers drain hose is too far down the drain pipe which is causing a siphoning action pull the washers drain hose out pipe some you should be able to hear water dropping into the pipe the reason it only happens in the rinse cycle is because the water from wash is being drained and before the water vacuum is broken the rinse water comes in causing it to keep draining

Whirlpool Ultimate Care II keeps taking water.

ck your drain nose/drainline, chances are you have along hose, perhaps even draining along the floor behind hte unit, into a "closed" drain system. in which cawee the wwater is syphoning out during the rinse cycle, youlll needt o raise the drain hose to above 48" and have it drain into a stand pipe to prevent siphoning effect

Washer does not stay full of water

but is the end of the hose fitting snug in standpipe?? if it is water may be siphoning out due to no air break once 1st drain takes place ..stand pipe needs to be slightly larger tah end of drain hose to allow air to break the siphoning action

Water will not stop filling washer

cut power to washer ..does it stop filling? suspect water level control or small hose to it is off ..keeps running in? shut off water to washer and change fill valve where hoses attach..just won't fill to top and start? raise level of drain hose up and be sure it is not too tight in drain pipe to prevent siphoning
