I have a samsung clp-315 laser printer, i bought it last year and have hardly used it until now! there is allegedly 81% toner life still available but when i do any printout the prints are scraggy down the centre of the sheets......i dont know what to do to solve this issue so can you please help. The problem with the Samsung Smart Panel is that it uninstalls itself and the icon disappears and you must then ask the computer to repair it. When the Samsung Smart Panel is not working, of course you have no information about what is wrong in the printer or info about toner levels. This has happened to me three times. This is my third CLP-310/315 so I know what I´m talking about.

A reset chip is available from several vendors that overrides the printer's internal counter. This reset chip is installed on the motherboard, either by hooking tiny wires around the contacts of an IC chip, or by soldering. This reset chip is becoming easier to find. Check out ebay and other online vendors.

ean_inkrefills on ebay. Search on the terms "samsung clp 315 toner refill solution". Chip installs on the printer motherboard--installation is not overly difficult, but still not for the faint-hearted. I expect it voids the printer warranty. Ean gives good email support.

No need to drill holes. If you turn the cartridge with the drum facing away from you, on the left hand side, you should see a small block elliptical cover with a couple of divider on it. That is the cover for filling the cartridge. The problem is there is no available reset chip yet for clp-315.
